At one end there is the Casa Rosada, which is the presidential palace, likely most known for the place where Eva Peron stood on the balcony and spoke to the crowds. This is where political demonstrations often take place. In the centre of the plaza, there is a small obelisk commemorating the independence of Argentina. Year round, there are locals and tourists visiting the plaza.

Plaza de Mayo is a nice place to visit in BA. There's quite a bit of history, especially, related to the Perons. Currently, it's the center of Argentian government. It's pleasant to walk around and enjoy the scenery and buildings.

The Plaza de Mayo is an important landmark in Bueno Aires and is not to be missed. There you’ll see an impromptu memorial (and the base of the horse and rider monument) dedicated to those who lost their lives to COVID in the pandemic.

The centre of the city near beautiful sites and bustling happenings. A must see to include on your itinerary. The equivalent of Times Sauare in New York.

My wife and I strolled to Plaza de Mayo as we browsed the San Telmo flea market along Calle Defensa. The Casa Rosada is located in the plaza. It is a must stop location in BA to appreciate where Eva Peron appeared from the balcony in fact or fiction.

A key tourist site of the city.
Lots to see and wonderful architecture.
Won’t take much time to explore but should be on the ‘to do’ list.

The Plaza de Mayo is the plaza directly in front of the Casa Rosata, famous for the crowds outside Evita's window...both in fact and in fiction. But even with this history, the Plaza remains the center of many political and activist activities today. My favorite sight, and one of the most moving, were all of the painted stones left by people at the status directly in front of the Casa Rosata. Each stone, painted differently and different in size and shape, was placed there by a loved one for someone who died during the COVID crisis....thousands of stones, each for one person. It was beautiful and moving. Definitely worth a visit for both the history and the current impact.

This is the City’s main square. Another thing the square is very charming too. Also this is very touristy too. Lastly, ever first timer in Buenos Aires needs to go here.

It was a rainy and cool day there are a metro station and bus stop right in the plaza but we decided to walk from our hotel to the plaza. We went there early morning, it was quite and not very busy.
A beautiful historical plaza surrounded by many historical beautiful buildings, and many churches and cathedrals. The plaza had lots of history, you can see “Casa Rosada”,“Pirámide de Mayo” the Argentinian revolution movement and Monument of General Manuel Belgrano. In the base of the general statue there were rocks with names of coronavirus victims.
From the plaza it is about 600 meters through Colon Park to the “Woman's Bridge”.
Worth visiting and reading little about its history.

then the rest has its advantages but in general it is mostly just a big place where every tourist guide will get you. The cathedral is much more interesting and apart form the heat and the sund the most interesting part is to take a picture of the flag (see Mexico city).
