Fernando did an excellent job with a very large group of English speakers. The tour was interesting and educational. We certainly got a better appreciation of the development and importance of the important milestones in the evolution of the city and the Republic.

Free walking tours can be a bit hit or miss but this one was brilliant. Vicky was really knowledgeable about the city and gave us lots of history but without sounding like she was reading a script. Definitely do this on one of your first days in BA as it's a great introduction and Vicky was full of recommendations.…

A really great tour run by Jime. She was very knowledgeable and her English was perfect. We did a different walking tour with a competing company (orange shirts) a few days before and the group size was completely unmanageable. This one was perfect, and Jime was both knowledgeable and funny. Thanks!…

As always, the free walking tour of Buenos Aires was a great introduction to the main sights and centre of the city on our first full day there. As they also offer an afternoon tour, it's convenient for people who aren't early risers and who want to pace themselves and enjoy the city at its liveliest part of the day instead of getting up early to trek across the city to the meeting point. Our guide was friendly, and the tour offered numerous small stops en route to the main governmental plaza where the tour ends. We missed the beginning of the tour, but thankfully it was not too hard to find them as the Spanish group of the simultaneous time was still near to the meeting point and happily pointed us towards the English tour. A varied mix of knowledge about the history of Buenos Aires in the past 100 or so years was given by the guide, most of which was really interesting. Of course though, given the location, there was a large fixation on Eva Peron. However, it was a little off-putting that the guide kept referring to Evita as "a Madonna movie" not, as it originally was and is more famous for being, an Andrew Lloyd Webber musical. It was a little bizarre that the guide seemed unaware that Evita existed before Madonna, and that did make us question her knowledge on some other parts of the tour as well; though she was otherwise happy to answer questions, and did explain well the current political situation in Argentina given the protests that struck a lot of South America towards the end of last year. It would be good to also have a tour around some of the other areas of the city, such as Palermo or San Telmo, instead of solely in the centre where we mostly see the houses of rich people, office blocks, and government buildings, or even a nightlife tour such as those offered by many similar companies in Europe. Otherwise, it was an informative tour for the most part, and recommended if you have just arrived in the city. If you have already spent a few days exploring though, as usual, the tour probably will contain information you already know and take you to places you have already seen. As one would expect, it is therefore a good introduction to a city, but it is then up to you to dive into further depth or not.…
