We were staying in Ashburton for a couple of days and this became one of our favourite spots. Walking around the gardens is lovely and our kids loved playing cricket, climbing on the playground and checking out the birds in the aviary. It is a great spot to have a picnic, read a book or get some exercise.

Right in the centre of town. It has a bit of everything. Last time daughters loved the flying fox. Walked through the park after dark, with a few lights, but not many.

A joy to have this fantastic domain in Ashburton. Beautiful trees with names on them & are just gorgeous in the Autumn. Plenty of room to run around or jog around. A pond for the ducks so kids to fed them on. Playground with all sorts of equipment to play on for all ages, flying fox even.small toddlers paddling pool, public toilets which tour bus visitors use. Gardens are a delight any season. Cricket pitches in summer & soccer fields in winter. A very big asset to the town of Ashburton what's more it is on the main highway south!! Don't miss it, it's a must see.

The gardens were a delight. So well kept. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the Aviary. It was a mess and the birds did not look cared for at all. Someone told us that they are going to pull them down, well it can not come soon enough, but in the meantime please give the remaining birds some care and attention. We came away feeling very upset.

This is a must do if you have children and you are travelling to Ashburton. The playground is HUGE and there is something for every child of every capability. The fenced splash pad is awesome in the warmer months. Good location right in town with plenty of easy parking. We easily spent a couple of hours exploring here. For adults there is gym equipment and plenty of space to picnic or bbq.

A beautiful domain not far from home!! Lots of occasions to go to! Lovely to go for a walk thru & see all the gardens etc! Also love to go to any of the towns productions & music in the park or xmas in the park or anything going on in our town! Ashburton is a lovely place to live!!😀😀😀😀

Walking amongst the flowers and trees of the domain is relaxing and calming after a busy day. Large open spaces for families to play or watch a game of cricket or hockey. There is something for everyone. Children's play area and paddling pool available in the summer.

We stopped here for a lunch stop on our way from Christchurch to Lake Tekapo. Beautiful gardens and playground with toilets and a good collection of birds in the aviary, which by the looks of it is a hit with the kids. Fell in love with the cockatoo that loved a scratch on the head.

As you are in a dry area it is a pleasnat surprise as we were here in autumn the coulors of the foliage was superb there were some left over dahlias which were prety lots of ducks easy walk

Always been popular with grandchildren. Two hangers of planes and a replica control tower to see so allow time. Minimal seating is provided for those who need to sit while younger ones discover. On sunny weekend days you can often see the skydivers landing nearby.
