My favorite beach on the peninsular – wide expanse of gently shelving sand – safe bathing and clean toilets – more important to me however is the wide choice of restaurants and cafes on Hibiscus Highway fronting this beach and a number of take aways...More

I visited New Zealand for the first time solo and stayed at this place. Loves the location to the beach and the town center. It is a bus ride to downtown Auckland. The beach is beautiful for walking and swimming. There is a beautiful walkway...More

This is a great beach. The water is clean and calm enough to swim. One of the few beaches I Nz with no seaweed (out of the beaches I visited). There are lots of seashells so would be fun for kids to collect.

Walking at Orewa Beach is nice.Make sure it is not High Tide, otherwise you'll get wet feet. After your walk, find nice cafe' for a good coffee or snack.

Honestly this beach is a must stop for a walk and fresh air. Public toilets are close by. Dogs were there on leashes. Picnic tables also around the place. Wheelchair car parking but not really wheelchair friendly in the part we were.
