Wonderful Bush walk for the whole family
Sep 2019 • Friends
This is a wonderful Bush to walk through. It is good for fit and unfit people as there is a flat track or you can go up the hill as well. Unfortunately it is closed at the moment for maintenance.

Reserve
Dec 2019 • Couples
This reserve is closed off currently with a big fence across the entrance. No info on this was on Google when I looked it up.

Bush walk
Jan 2019 • Couples
Like everyone before us, more signs at intersections in the tracks, that would be great. Obviously the trust do not read the reviews or feedback

Toddler friendly bush adventures
Feb 2018 • Family
Lots of bush tracks so you can make it short or longer as required. Cool in the heat for little ones with good paths and pleanty to discover. Nicely signed with interesting information posts along the way. Feet cleaning essential.

Short Hike
Oct 2017
Short drive from Orewa beach, great for a short hike, plenty of steps and trees, mainly Kauri trees to enjoy. Limited parking space.

Alice Eaves Scenic Reserve

Reasonable fitness required unless you have someone drop you at the entrance in Hillcrest Rd and pick you up from down in the Kensington Estate. We are both 76 yrs old and walked up from Orewa Beach via the lookout on the main road then down through the bush and back. Interesting sample of kauri bush and an enjoyable walk. Combination of wooden walkways with some graveled paths at the bottom. Not suitable in winter at the bottom.

Quiet and cool.
Jun 2017
Steep paths take you up through the ancient woodlands so it's a walk for fit people but it's well worth it. On a hot day, if you are at the northern end of the beach, take a break and enjoy a quiet and cool place while you stretch your legs. Many of the tree specimens are labelled and there's other useful information provided.

Bush Walk
Mar 2017 • Family
Lovely bush walk-not suitable wheelchairs, could take a mountain buggy, but be prepared, there are LOTS of stairs. Excellent on a really hot day as the bush is so cool to be in. Can do short tracks or long tracks.

Nice family walk

Really enjoyed my walk, we went with a group so took about an hour round trip. Well worth visiting and an easy walk, not too taxing for the little ones.

Lovely walking
Nov 2016 • Couples
Me and my partner walked through here yesterday to get down into Orewa, we were so glad we took this route instead of the road. Lovely paths to follow and signs for the different trees and fauna. The only thing missing was a reminder of directions once you're on the paths and have a junction.
