Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited with 2 teenage boys during Easter hols. The gentleman with the magnificent moustache was outstanding 😀. Great customer service! He had an excellent way of talking to the kids and engaging them around the Health and Safety. An unmissable experience and a great way to exhaust kids of all ages. Thanks.

Have been renting from here for years for my friends and family.

Very quick and easy service, they keep sizing details in the system so that next time you come by they can grab the right stuff for you straight away.

Open late on Friday nights which is perfect for us city dwellers that can’t sneak out of work early.

Great range of gear for all experience levels, and very good prices!!

Excellent customer service, we really enjoyed this mountain bike ride. I probably should have hired a mountain bike from them too as it turned out to be a bit tricky on my road bike - just had to get off for the worst bits of cobble. Great ride though with amazing history, impressive viaducts and even a tunnel to ride through.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. The Ohakune Old Coach Road is a great 17km trail with a little bit of everything and a lot of history. The team at Vertigo Adventure Centre try their hardest to give you a fantastic experience in the Ruapehu region.

Great indoor activity when the weather packs it in. My only issue was the price for the amount of time. I understand it's the only indoor activity in the town but $15 for an hour is steep. Also should advise climbers or spectators to check for climbers coming down.

The staff were friendly and the walls were great for all abilities. My 6 year old could do quite a few of the walls. And there was challenging ones for my 13 year old to.

This place is awesome and it’s staff, especially Jeremy from Naenae make it even better. He was amazing with our two girls (3 and 8) and they had a blast on all the climbing walls! Great range for all levels. We would totally recommend to all.

I want to say that the “old coach road” was nice, however, to my feeling, this is not a grade 2 beginners track and should be treated as such.

I’m 50, not in best shape, I know to cycle and wanted to spend a nice day biking.
i visited the SLR shop yesterday wanting bike for track.
Since I’m not in shape I specifically asked about electric bike but the seller never thought questioning me as for my condition and experience, then he mentioned this is a very EASY track so no electric bike are required. WRONG!
This track is not for people who do not have much experience in biking and surly not in regular bike. The track Is full of single narrow tracks, big rocky road, slippery gravel and full of high and lows.
I would expect a salesman to know who’s standing in front of him and ask the correct questions. If he asked me more questions it was clear I’m not suitable for regular bike.
I returned to my motel completely exhausted and in pains
Please consider electric bike and not take the “easy” track as a realistic definition of this track.

SLR - please consider changing the way you tailor bike to your customers. I didn’t want to ruin your reviews rate but I was very disappointed with my experience.
