First of all, closed for lunch, so go early or late. Funky as can be as the art is all from the 1940's and 50's. No one seemed to know why. It was fun nevertheless less.

While strolling around Avila, I passed by this palace cum museum but didn't visit it. The gates were locked and there wasn’t anyone around. I presumed it was closed when I was there around 1:30pm and moved on.

The Palace was a real surprise. Low key. No tour groups or selfie sticks here! I loved the artwork. It's from the 1940"s and 1950's. The Palace is quite small and there is an audioguide The photos of the building restoration are interesting.

Is a rehabilitated palace actually property of the City of Avila. Was donated by the family Caprotty. Building of XVI century. There is a stabled collection belonging to the family. Some picture os Sorolla and sculptures also carry concerts in the patio.

The best thing in town. A real discovery with a well-curated exhibition of the collection. Two beautiful Sorollas as a bonus.
