The museum is well worth the time. There is an entry fee to the Cathedral, which surprised me. Also no facilities for ease of nature publicly available.

This is a beautiful cathedral. Wonderful altarpieces and high vaulted ceilings. The outer wall forms part of the protective city wall. Could use some restoration funds. Still, well worth a visit.

Even if it does not impress outside, the cathedral is impressive inside. Full of history, wonderful sculptures, special chapels, the cathedral offers a history lesson of these places.

The Cathedral is a must see attraction in Avila and a visit is made much better by the fact that the cathedral provides visitors with an audioguide. You might not find every one of the points, and I certainly did not follow them in order...More

With the use of blood stone an iron oxide colouring red patches within the rock the effect is incredible in contrast to the grey granite columns that support these incredible arched ceilings The museum is really worth a visit and the magnificent silver Sacristy worth...More

Interesting story behind the missing right hand tower but the fact it wasn't built doesn't detract from the beauty of the church but with so many spectacular churches in Spain it's hard to pick which is the most interesting.
