Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was my first yoga experience at the ripe old age of 59. Our yogi was a beautiful lady who asked if there were any people new to yoga, had limited yoga experience and so on. She made sure I was doing poses within my ability and correcting my poses. I felt thoroughly invigorated (& hot) after the session but my experience was so good I intend to continue yoga locally.
The grounds at desa seni are delightful too.

Very nice vibe here, luxurious surroundings and was pleasantly surprised with the yoga class I attended.
I went to a pranayama meditation class and that day happened to be an Osho inspired class. The teacher was very professional and experienced (not just going through the motions) and would visit again next time I'm in Canggu.
140k for 1.5 hours class.
Only accessible by bike or car as the road is not for pedestrians (I cycled and it was fine).

I was in Bali for two weeks and had a package with unlimited access here. I've tried yoga a few times but never consistently, preferring to run/ride or hit the gym. But there's so many benefits to yoga that I decided to give it a try. The great thing was there were so many different varieties of yoga available that I truly felt I gave the whole yoga thing a proper test, including aerial/fly high yoga which was just so much fun. I found it important to keep an open mind, and just try everything and then find what suits you. That's the style as well as the instructor.

I thought I'd want a really dynamic and strong practice but it turns out I fell in love with yin yoga, which is the perfect compliment to my other physical activities. I've kept the practice up since coming home and have also found a yoga studio nearby which has yin classes

While I was there, I also took a private class with Berne which was so worth it if you can afford it. Everyone has different ways of teaching and by trying as many classes and teachers as I could, I found what worked for me.

I'm probably the least hippy person out there but I can definitely say yoga and meditation has had a great impact on me. I feel so much calmer and more balanced when I make time for it. This place was the perfect place to try for those curious about the practice.

Was not what I expected by the way the yoga instructor go through the vinyasa class. Heard a lot of about this place but I left disappointed.
Stephen seems rather bossy and lack the proper instructions of vinyasa flow which I usually practice. Tends to ramble about his life story and a philosophy which most yoga Instructors would not bore the students as they rather just teach what they need to teach yoga authentically. It all depends on the yoga Instructors but the place is peaceful for a true practice.

Hello Divva, Finding the teacher that resonates with you is the trick to an amazing practice. Appreciate the feedback, all subjective to the individual. Some good sharing material with the teacher. It is all valid and important for growth. Matur suksma!

Desa Seni is an out of this world place with beautiful setting, friendly staff and very diverse yoga classes. I can go on forever about their beautiful relaxation area by the pool, excellent locally-grown food menu, perfect price point and so on. I do however feel there's one thing that lets this place down, and that is management's decision to hold the classes in a smaller hall rather than the original large space.
It is practically on the verge of ridiculousness how many people they could squeeze like sardines to be next to each other in the same class, when the bigger hall is completely empty next door. This is not for you unless you are prepared to share some sweat. In a class i took last week i was sandwiched between two sweat-dripping bulky guys. This has been the last drop of my patience, yoga in Balinese temperatures is hard enough without having to worry about hygiene around you.
Apparently they've had many complaints but still nothing has been done, i really hope a good decision is taken very soon or i might just be visiting the pool area and a restaurant minus the yoga class.

I went to the fly high yoga class. (My first one ever) and it was amazing. Our teacher was super funny and made me feel really safe. It was a very good class, will stopping by more often. And the location with the garden is so peaceful. Love love love

I will say this - Desa Seni is beautiful. And they have great equipment - mats, blocks, bolsters, etc - quality. But the people at the front desk and who do the maintenance are all in stiff looking uniforms, which seems odd and in contrast to what yoga ought to be. The gift shop is also filled with ridiculously overpriced items, which I found a bit offensive. I understand that some proceeds are for charity, but the prices rivaled American pricing. Also, I attended what was supposed to be a Yin/Yang yoga class but the instructor forgot the yang part and taught more Yin Restorative. I didn't mind, but I think a few people were disappointed. Good if you like frou frou yoga.

Awesome setting, good instruction....not much more to say. Spend a morning there and discover the peace of Bali just a stones throw from the hustle and bustle. Highly recommend.

Most amazing place for yoga - great instructors, idyllic location. Almost too good to be real! I wish we could have one of these close to home. Also loved the Nia dance - too funny and too much fun!
