Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Don't waste your time coming here, there are many other places to surf in bali.
1. The beach is full of trash and not esthetically pleasing, with dirty water from the river.
2. The vendors increase the price of sitting on their decapitated benches by 100% (if you're purchasing beverages from the vendor you should not pay for the benches per the local balinese) if you pay, you're a sucker!
3. There's a sewer drain leading into the ocean, right next to the over priced benches with umbrellas. I don't know about you but I don't want to pay to sit on the beach and smell sewage.
4. If you decide to come here, do not bring any personal belongings, it's not safe, lots of lurking eyes waiting for an oppurtunity.

Always a hive of tourism and local activity...lot's of Hindu ceromonies on the Beach, local fisherman and families, but way too many surfing schools... was once a sleeply little fishing village. Now like the rest of Bali getting too busy..such a shame!

Batu Bolong Beach is a great beach at Canggu, Bali, Indonesia. The beach is easily accessible by road, and there is a parking lot which charges nominal parking fee. The sand quality of the beach is superb. The beach is not crowded with people (like that of Kuta), and there are a number of local business that offers dining, surfing lesson, beach chair, etc..

Blong Rock Beach is one of the beaches in the western part of Bali, precisely in the Canggu area. According to its name, the beach has its own landmark, a rock or large coral with holes in the rock. Any Traveler who is present will be photographed with the rock background. However, in addition to the uniqueness of the great stone, the beach of Batu Bolong also offers a variety of places for Travellers to relax, one of which is Sandbar, where we can enjoy the beautiful beach while watching the sunset and hearing the sound of the beautiful blue waves accompanied by fresh coconut water. Perfect for those of us who want to take a break from work or other activities. In addition to Sandbar there are also surfing facilities that can be rented Traveler and typical Bali people snacks that can be found.

The beach is quite nice with a few bars to chill out in and a perfect spot to learn to surf. The sunset is great.
My son, however, had a stomach infection twice after surfing, three days apart. Several sewage rivers are channeled into the sea in Canggu (which you can smell in various places), so that the sea here is very polluted and this results in infections. This is also known in surfing circles, but unfortunately we got the information too late. My husband had no problems, but children do swallow a little more water when surfing. Be careful!!!

Smells like sewerage runoff area. Black sand beach with quite dirty water and some garbage on the beach. Full of local sellers who all offer to rent and buy things. Forget about relaxing anything as they keep coming to harass with everything.
Surf is good, probably best in that side of the island.

Great for surfing!
Many surf schools, great surf instructors, about 400,000 per person incl. board and what else is needed.
Actually also relatively clean.
Even walks are great on the extensive beach.

This is definitely the beach you want to visit if you like surfing. Full of surf schools and bars overlooking beach and with a very busy vibe. People everywhere but not in a bad way just buzzy. Lots of dogs roam on beach which was lovely, but just watch where you walk incase of poop. Think it was about £5 to rent board or £15 for board and lesson. No need to prebook
