Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wet & Wild are a professional organisation they may charge just a little bit more but they are worth it. The other organisation Aitutaki Kiteboard run by the Lee is exactly that.. Leigh constantly offers himself on the side and very much it is an aged Benny Hill Show.. your girlfriend will be hit upon along with everything else whilst you are out kiting… they may be cheaper… but nothing is sacred, they may think they are a cooler but realistically there’s little professionalism a wake of victims and are more like a bunch of Lions lying in hammocks in the sun… awaiting and playing Mikes well rehearsed games to eventually have you at the back of the coconut trees at lunch time, if that’s your thing.. go for it… but if being used and abused isn’t then personally I would recommend Wet & Wild a truely family non dramatic emotional play off organisation that offers a top notch professional service and guidance

We had the most amazing tour with Wet and Wild and were fortunate enough to swim with a family of humpback whales as well as eagle rays and turtles. It was hands down one of the BEST tours/experiences we have ever done. Thank you to the team, we would highly recommend you do this while staying in Aitutaki.

I went on three trips to go swimming with whales with the Wet and Wild Crew while I was visiting Aitutaki and each was excellent. I got to see and swim with the whales each time and each trip was different. It was a very exciting and joyful experience.

Dylan and QJ were great guides. Knowledgeable, experienced, respectful of the whales and also enthusiastic. They obviously love what they do and it was a pleasure to be out there with them. It was good to have someone get in the water and scope things out for us and check where the whales were before we plunged in. It really helped us locate and see the whales underwater.

I don't make bad reviews if something is not really bad. We have booked MONTHS ago whale swimming with these guys. They were really fine to be flexible with the terms of the booking. I must mention here that we have travelled Aitutaki ONLY for the whale swimming. Also i must mention that in the island there are only two companies doing this activity. I have picked randomly wet n wild because of the nice reviews. Two days before our activity, i received a confirmation mail with the time and everything. Very happy. The booking was for 1pm. And boom. 10.40a.m. at the day of the booking. Cancellation email because the other couple that has booked the activity has cancelled. I can understand that they have a minimum of people participating but this was last minute and it was OUR ONLY CHANCE. We spends tons of money to arrive here. But here comes the best part. They have also a private charter option for whale swimming (extremely expensive). I have kindly asked them to offer us this in a bit smaller price so we can do this. They didn't. And to be clear. This activity takes place 5 minutes from the shore. Not a huge cost guys. And it was your mistake. And the worst was that the other company had a trip this day at 10.00a.m. We lost it because they let us know literally last minute.
Anyway, we have managed to change our flight out from Aitutaki so we will have another chance to make it. And we had. Wet n wild had a tour and put us after our flight change (they have never replied to my emails, i have just made a phone call). To be mentioned here that i have done two similar trips in other parts of the world for whale sharks. I know how its done CORRECTLY. The tour of wet n wild was the worst ever. We have found whales and all the guides did was to be sure that anyone of the group has seen a whale for 1 second. And thats all. Not any chance to look a little more at this majestic creature, not any chance of photos (the visibility was ok, not super clear but not extremely bad- i do diving and i know exactly what i an talking about). Nothing. And we have seen a lot of them from the boat. But guys. Some people dream of this moment their whole lives. One second of looking a shade somewhere in the water is not what they want and doesn't worth almost 200NZD. And last but not least, i am not doing this review to support the other company doing whale swimming. They were also really unprofessional. So if you travel there be prepared to have spare days if you want to do whale swimming as these guys mainly care about money (if not they could have save our day by making the trip for us in a lower price -not the same with the group option but a bit lower than the extremely expensive private).

Kia Orana , Sorry you did not get to swim with the whale. unfortunately the other couple did cancel so we were unable to proceed with the tour as we needed the minimum of 4 people which works out to $720 ($180pp) The private tour for 2 people is $700, they are both the same minimum running cost for any tour to to go otherwise we would be paying for the tour our self so we can not give it to you cheaper. We both missed out. All the prices are on the website for everyone to see. Swimming with the whale is NOT guaranteed and is a BONUS and all depends if they want to swim with you and all sorts of different situations, Swimming with whale sharks do not refund money if you see them or not. Whales here are Sight rate 95% and swim rate 85%. Would you be able to tell us how you do this correctly? It is 5mins to outside the reef where the whales hangout but you might have to go around the 52km Island to find them and it can only be a bonus it is so close and don't have to travel for ages to get to where the are. please let us know how it is our fault if someone gets sick and has to cancel? The other company scuba dives in the morning and only has the one whale tour at 1pm in the afternoon. Advice If anyone is coming to Aitutaki just to swim with whales it is a great idea to have spare days for sure because not everyday is the same and also do it at the start of the holiday and not before you fly out, If you come back to Aitutaki one day we will give you a free whale tour when we have a shared whale trip. Thanks Kakite

What an awesome day. We chartered a boat for our family of 4 including a 16 year old girl and a 15 year old boy. We were lucky enough to have Ned as our guide - what an amazing man who shared lots of great stories with us about life on the Cook Islands.
We spent the day on the lagoon visiting Honeymoon Island, One Foot Island, and the best snorkelling spots we have ever been to anywhere in the world. We swam with GT’s, turtles, napoleon wrasse and hundreds of other fish. A beautiful lunch was provided on One Foot Island. We headed beyond the reef looking for whales with the plan being to swim with them if we found them. Luck wasn’t with us but we did get to swim with large turtles instead. Fabulous trip and an amazing way to end our Cook Island adventure. Thank you.

We hired Quinton and crew for the entire day (private charter) with 10 family members & friends. This was quite possibly the highlight of our trip. Quinton & Co went above and beyond to ensure we did everything we had hoped for and more. We had a very sick traveller with us and the wet and wild team did everything they could to ensure he enjoyed the day as much as the rest of us, nothing was a problem. Lunch was amazing and the sights were just mind blowing. Could not recommend them more. Thank you!

What a great 1/2 day chartered cruise with Quinton on Wet & Wild Aitutaki
We went snorkelling in 2 beautiful areas - one with the Giant Trev’s, with lovely reef areas and one where the Giant Clam farms is, which also had more lovely reef areas. We had about an hours snorkelling in each area.
Then we were dropped off at one end of Honeymoon Island, while they took the boat around the other side we walked the length of the island to meet them. It was Red Tailed Tropic Bird breeding season and we found several birds with chicks on the ground where they nested.
The Frigate birds were harassing the Tropic Birds in the air to make them give up the meal they had for their chicks.

We had booked a trip for 4 people at a cost of $ 800 and had to cancel due to sickness. A refund of $ 300 was agreed, however, the operator cheated us and only paid $ 200.

Kia Orana, in the emails it clearly reads if you get sick or injured and/or are a no show you will not get a refund. The group canceled 3 hours before departure the same day. We kindly gave back 25% when there was not meant to be any refund at all.

Wet and Wild is very disrespectful to the whales. Cruising very fast towards the animals, curcling them, having guests splash on top of them. Totally disrespectful.

Sorry you think that we are actually the most experienced operators for swim with the whales nearly 20 years, always approaching carefully, calmly and slowly. I'm guessing you were not on our boat to start with and viewing from a nother operators boat as every single person that has been swimming with the whales with Wet n Wild Aitutaki has been absolutely 100% happy.

We spent 4 days with Wetnwild at Honeymoon Island learning to kiteboard. It was amazing, a beautiful place and such a cool experience. Quinton and his team run a professional but super friendly and relaxed operation. We really enjoyed our time with them. Alex our instructor did a brilliant job of teaching us the basics, and his calm, confident teaching style meant we both got up on the board by the end of our lessons. Highly recommend these guys, we will be back next year!
