About
The ‘must do’ day lagoon cruise aboard the 21 meter Polynesian style Vaka Titi ai Tonga. Every morning at 10am Mondays to Saturdays, the sound of the conch shell signals the departure of the Vaka for six hours of lagoon magic. There’s snorkelling, swimming and sunbathing to do before tucking into to an island barbecued lunch of fresh caught ocean fish served on board and accompanied by a full bar service. Visit several motu (small islets) and beach comb at One Foot Island before returning past the old TEAL flying boat base. Impromptu entertainment by the crew will have you tying pareu, weaving coconut leaf plates or humming island tunes. Tour includes pickup from your accommodation on Aitutaki. Resorts adn Hotels on O'otu Peninsula are within easy walking distance from the departure point and the Vaka docks directly at the Aitutaki Lagoon Resort and Spa to pick up guests from there. We look forward to take you to the magic that is Aitutaki's lagoon.

We did the vaka cruise on Aitutaki as part of the day trip from Rarotonga with Air Rarotonga. It was a magical experience, and pictures, although pretty spectacular in themselves, do not do justice to the experience in real life. Many thanks to Ali the tour guide, and all of the hard working and friendly crew on the vaka, for making it such a memorable day with our best friends. We thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone that travels to the Cook Islands.

The Vaka cruise was absolutely wonderful and it was the highlight of my holiday to the Cook Islands. I would highly recommend it to anyone staying on Aitutaki, or if not then do it as a day trip from Rarotonga.
The scenery, swimming and visiting the other little islands was spectacular.
The BBQ lunch was amazing and abundant with beautiful, tasty
delicious food.
The staff were wonderful and the commentary about history from the region from Ali was insightful and very interesting but a microphone would have been handy because at times I couldn't hear the commentary. The singing was also a great added bonus.
Overall it was an absolutely fantastic experience and I highly recommend it.

We booked the day tour from Rartonga & Completely exceeded our expectations. We had the most amazing day from pick up to drop off, the cruise itself, the snorkelling, kai, everything was amazing! . Can't put into words how beautiful Aitutaki is. Big thank you to Ali & the crew for the most enjoyable experience.

My partner and I loved our time on the Vaka Cruise as part of our day trip from Rarotonga to Aitutaki. We learned lots about Aitutaki from our tour guide, Ali, who joked that the day would 'ruin Rarotonga for us' - and he wasn't wrong! We had stops at three different islands including the famous One Foot Island, and enjoyed some of the best snorkelling we've ever experienced. We loved the fresh buffet food on the boat and were very impressed by the recently renovated Vaka cruise boats - fit with showers, deck chairs and a bar. My only criticism of the day would be that I would have liked longer durations at some of the stops to enjoy more swimming and snorkelling, however I understand there's a tight schedule for the daytrippers to be followed. We were kept entertained by Ali and his team throughout the day and enjoyed their ukelele band's performances. We were also impressed to be joined by a Canadian couple who had completed the tour 8 years prior, and returned for more to celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary. Would definitely recommend!

Aitutaki lagoon is truly breathtaking, a myriad of different hues of blue, shimmering white sands set against the lush green palms and tropical plants. The water was so warm and it was amazing to actually experience walking along a sandbar instead of seeing other peoples videos and photos. Ali certainly made the day with his humour, banter and local knowledge. His awesome crew put on amazing food and entertainment. The buffet lunch provided included a lot of local fare - just try a little bit of everything, you will not be disappointed. Overall a fantastic way to spend the day on this beautiful island.

Our experience with the Vaka Cruise was nothing short of fabulous! The crew were all so welcoming, had tons of fun energy, and wonderful singing voices! The food was delicious, fresh, and healthy. Snorkeling was great! This tour was hands down our favorite activity we did in the Cook Islands. I highly recommend staying a few days on Aitutaki, we were so happy to have more time on such a beautiful, laid back island.

No words can truly describe how amazing Aitutaki is. We did the day trip from Rarotonga & were picked up at the airport for a tour of the island before setting off on the Vaka for our cruise out to a number of small islands. One foot island is a dream, & the only regrets we had was not taking our children & leaving the place! Crew was fantastic, helpful, entertaining & made the trip even more amazing!
