Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We did two days diving with Onu during our stay in Aitutaki. Awesome! Very professional, friendly and accommodating. We were well looked after by Onu and his crew. Saw many turtles, eagle rays, a couple of amorous sting rays and many, many reef fish. Highly recommend.

We went swimming with whales in late October, so it was the end of the season, but we still had an amazing day! Ono and his family were kind and generous when our booking got mixed up (not our fault or theirs!) and when we finally got to go out, it was a beautiful day! I went in the ocean three times, got to swim close-ish to amazing humpback whales and we saw lots of their playing (mother and calf) from the boat. Ono and his family really exemplified the generosity and kind nature of the Cook Islands people and we were out for three and a half hours, as he and his team worked super hard to try to get us good sightings. I would definitely do this again if I am ever back in Aitutaki and absolutely recommend this company. Great value for money and excellent service!

Highly recommend the whale watching tour with Dive aitutaki. We went with Onu and Tui earlier this week and got to swim with a mother and calf humpback 3 times. Very professional team, felt totally safe on the boat (there were a couple of people on board who were less comfortable in the ocean and the team made sure they had someone nearby and were being looked after). Decent snorkeling equipment. Super friendly staff, absolute pleasure to be around.

I am very disappointed with this business. I emailed the owner in May to confirm that we could scuba dive in September. When we arrived in Aitutaki we were advised by the owner that there was no scuba diving unless there was a minimum of 6 people, or we could do a private charter which cost > $1000. This was despite their website still advertising diving as an activity. There is no mention of a minimum. I'd advise anyone wanting to dive at Aitutaki to be very cautious if you are relying on Bubbles Below. This is really unfortunate and should not detract from the other professional and friendly tourism operators there are on the island.

Before we booked our flight to Aitutaki we emailed Bubbles to check that scuba would be available in September. They confirmed that we could scuba dive with them.
But when we got here we found that scuba is not available with Bubbles and they are the only place offering scuba. We got some conflicting stories: there is only one man in the boat and he needs another to do scuba, they need a party of 6 to go diving but they could take us (2) on a private charter for $1000, whale watching is more popular and can be done by one man so that is all he is doing now.
Whatever. If scuba is not available they should not be advertising it. And they should have given us the full story when we first enquired.

We had an unforgettable afternoon with Otu. We swam with a whale and its calf and it was incredible. We spent almost 2 hours with them, the calf was incredibly friendly and funny. It’s the best experience ever. We also swam with turtles on our way back. Otu is kind and loves his job, I 100% recommend doing this experience with him.

We went out for a private whale swim with Onu and it was the best part of our whole six-week holiday to New Zealand and the Cook Islands. Onu was super responsive and easy to deal with by email, on the phone and in person. We went out late afternoon and he knew exactly where the whales were hanging out and how they were behaving. We saw two adult parent whales and a calf. The calf was very inquisitive and swam right up to us. We spent more than 20 minutes in the water with the whales before they swum away. Onu's guidance and experience really shone through and helped us get the best out of our time in the water. The snorkeling kit was very high quality. This is an absolute must-do experience for anyone visiting the Cook Islands in whale season. Memories to last for a lifetime.

The best scuba diving company I have ever dived with, Onu and his wife are the most amazing people, knows all the turtles by name and seems to bring the nature to you.
The food is amazing, so make sure to get to the cafe before the dive.
