Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Enjoyed the full day snorkeling / lagoon tour with Puna. He shared some nice stories however went on a bit about sunscreen and being wary of sunburn but didn't cover off basic water safety information such as where the life ring was on the boat in case of emergency. The home-made lemonade was a real treat as was the snacks provided on the boat and the lunch was delicious. Would recommend!

The lagoon tour is very basic, the tour only stopped on Honeymoon Island and One foot Island. For $125 , you would be expecting a lot more, the Vaka tour is better value for money.

Nonetheless, the lunch was great but the lagoon tour felt very basic with a lack of interest from the tour guide.

Can highly recommend doing a lagoon tour. Must be one of the most beautiful spots on earth. Captain Puna and his team made this trip very enjoyable and took good care of us. The lemon juice and snacks on board are yummy and the BBQ lunch was by far the best meal we had during our stay on Aitutaki. Captain Puna made sure we had enough time at each spot and took us to two different snorkling spots. We had such a great day and are still in awe how beautiful the lagoon is.

We always look forward to a trip on the lagoon with Puna, and sometimes more than one.
Great snorkelling, great lunch and comfortable ride on Puna's boat.
This lagoon tour is the highlight of our stay on Aitutaki and we look forward to returning in September next year.

Aitutaki Adventures was suggested to us and we're glad it was! Excellent day out, great snorkelling and wonderful lunch provided. We were given plenty of time at each spot we stopped at so felt like the tour timing was to suit 'us' and not just a schedule. Highly recommended Aitutaki Adventures for a relaxing and fun tour.

This lagoon has to be seen to be believed. It's quite large at around 15 x 14km. The water colour varies depending on the depth from sea blue to turquoise. The tour takes about 11 hours from Rarotonga and all day on a twin hull catamaran, a delicious buffet with fresh caught tuna, snorkel gear, towel and coconut drink upon arrival. The tour guide is fantastic and couldn't do enough for everyone. You stop at 3 islands and snorkel at the last one called One Foot island where you get your passport stamped at the post office and snorkel with the giant trevallys (about 4ft) and large clams. The second island is where they filmed Survivor Shipwreck UK. It's definitely worth the huge price tag $495, you won't regret it. Best to prebook before you leave home.

We are so pleased we picked up this cruise! The boat is smaller and able to go where the bigger boats can't. Puna was a great host making sure that everyone was safe and felt comfortable with what they were doing. We went over tho Honeymoon Island. The day before the conditions did not allow snorkeling but our day was okay. For the non snorkelers you could be dropped off on Honeymoon Island. As my husband is not a confident water person he choose this option and as he was the only one I went with him. What a sacrifice as the reports from the rest of our party was of magnificent snorkeling. However on Honeymoon Island is a Kite Surfing school and we spent an entertaining hour watching all the kite surfers, novice and expert. When Puna picked us up there were snacks available, fresh doughnuts, bananas and coconut and a delicious homemade lemonade. Off to One Foot Island for lunch and what a lunch it was - the best I had any where in the Cooks. No fish that day but a very tasty chicken and lots of lovely salads made from local fare. We stopped off at Survivor island where the series was filmed and arrived back around 4pm to be taken back to our accommodation on the truck. A great day out. Thank you Puna and thank you Steve at Ranginui Retreat for recommending him.

First thing is to book ahead with any of the lagoon cruises. They say to do this, and in this instance we nearly missed out. Had to try three companies. This one sees the sights, and you get snorkeling etc, although Puna does tend to talk on too much.

Puna, your guide for the day, puts on a great tour. His boat is just big enough to give everyone enough attention. He takes you to the same locations as the other tours. His boys also put out a LARGE spread for lunch. Everything was delicious, with plenty to go around for seconds and possibly 3rds for any large eaters. We had grilled tuna and wahoo, along with an assortment of local dishes, made from island produce.
The views of the water, as you are traveling from island to island, are incredible.
