Neighbourhood: People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice shop, with gadgets and other things (t-shirts, key rings, mugs, etc.) personalized by Brend. There is. Be careful when you personalize your package of m&m's, don't get carried away, as once you put them in your bag you can't remove them, and you end up paying a lot. Limit yourself.

Interesting store where various merchandise comes in the form of M&M chocolates
Great colour combination (especially the Great Wall of chocolates on level 2) and young kids will be fascinated

This store is 1600-sqf that spans two storeys and offers a range of M&M's candies and products including the Great Wall of Chocolate, the largest candy wall in the world.

Among the various M&M’s merchandise that are available included apparel, kitchenware items, plush and Shanghai- and China-themed M&M’s-branded products such as mugs, tins and t-shirts, designed specifically for the Shanghai M&M’s World that serve good local souvenirs for visitors to grab home.

But prices are steep and unless you have a sweet tooth, there's really nothing much to see or learn from.

It opens daily from 10am - 10pm.

Big store in London… used to have much better decorations.. you could take photos in beautiful corners but now is just more about selling items… the M&M chocolate is more expensive than a regular shop. Not impressed

2 floors of M&M paradise. Love the colorful display of different colored chocolate candies and one can mix and match their own.

And they offer customised chocolate candies here too! You can opt for pre determined designs for Birthday, Anniversaries, Thank You etc, 9 designs in all. There’s also the option for entirely personalised text, such that they are 1 in the world only. Unfortunately it comes only in milk chocolate.

This is in the Shimao Mall along Pedestrian Street so do spend some time dropping by if you are visiting the Pedestrian Street.

A pity that they do not sell any M&M Shanghai merchandise that's unique to Shanghai.

Kids loved this store. Brought some M and M's and some dispensers. You can even pay extra and get your names printed on the M and M's. I think it was 125RMB for 250gm with your names printed on or 59RMB for 250gm for normal ones.
Expensive shop like the rest of Shanghai but it is on Pedestrain Street

I love M&Ms and will visit a store when I am in a city that has one. This is quite a bit smaller than the New York but nevertheless it is a very colourful setup with a great range of M&Ms and merchandise spread out over two stores. It is easily accessible as it is on the pedestrian section of Nanjing Road East. Even if you don't want or like M&Ms it is worth a visit to see the colours. If you buy M&Ms just keep an eye on how much you buy as it can quickly mount up and you don't find out until you get to the register.

It's a fun place to visit and walk around with your kids.and definitely a shop where you'll get sucked in to buy something! Shop is a bit expensive and you'd be surprised how heavy your little bag works out to be! The shop has 2 floors and sells all types of merchandise from the M&M factory including a massive chocolate Wall where they have every colour of regular and peanut M & M !

I had been to M&M World once a couple of years ago. I went back in November of 2017 and it was closed for renovations. I was back again in June of 2018 and it was no longer there at all. I believe there is no longer M&M World in Shanghai. I did stop by the Starbucks Reserve Roastery while in Shanghai. Apparently the largest Starbucks in the world and it was certainly something to see for coffee lovers!

As we were walking along Nanjing pedestrian road you see so many people carrying their bag and I thought it must be worth to have a look. There were 2 doors and one there was a queue so long and zig zag on to the road. We entered the other door next to Sephora, straight in we went. We got there about 5pm and the shelves were looking very empty. There was no point in looking any further. So will have to go back maybe as they open.
