Crossing Beqa Lagoon by launch to Paradise Beach is magic on a sunny Fijian day. The views are spectacular and you are likely to see dolphins or if you are lucky, a turtle swimming lazily along one of the coral reefs you pass by.
Once at Paradise Beach the swimming is safe, calm and secluded, with clear, warm water and stunning sand and coconut trees to enjoy.
The service is friendly and food adequate, or, you can take your own.
If the weather is rainy, rough or very overcast it is not quite so enjoyable, but be quided by the Staff.
A great day out and within easy drive of Suva or the Coral Coast ....

The whole area was just gorgeous! It was gorgeous in the heavy rain and it was gorgeous in the bright sun.

Paradise Beach is very much an expats settlement, with a few restaurants scattered about. Sadly we had awful weather on our 5-day stay, so the beach was out-of-the-question. Unless you're into golf or sailing that doesn't leave much to do.
Would recommend getting a house with a pool.

To be honest we had a few good reasons to leave a poor review here given the boat left an hour late and the village tour was not available, however despite being a little frustrated at the start this trip was amazing and the highlight of our time at pacific harbour.

The boat ride there is about an hour during which time drinks are provided and fishing rods are trawled from the back of the boat. Unfortunately we didn't catch anything, but apparently they regularly do and the fish is then included in the lunchtime lovo.

On arrival we were ferried to the beach in 2 long boats which were skilfully navigated across the reef to avoid any damage. The beach is beautiful with overhanging trees fitted with hammocks, sun beds, a thatched roof eating and cooking area at the back, toilets, freshwater shower and the most pristine aqua blue beach you can imagine.

A kava ceremony was held initially whilst other staff prepared the lovo lunch, after which you are free to do what you like. Relax on the beach, ride kayaks, explore the jungle or as we elected to do join a group in a long boat to go snorkel the reef which is perhaps 1km off the beach.

You can snorkel off the beach and there are plenty of fish and coral, but the location they take you to is like a wonderland with bright corals, anemones, giant clams and thousands of varieties of fish that could hypnotise you for hours. It is worth following the guide for at least some of the time as he will dive deep to point out interesting items or just amuse you by pretending to sleep on the bottom or imitating fish.

On returning the lovo lunch is served which is delicious with pork, chicken, 2 fish varieties and some amazing salads and fruit. After lunch it was the same with more trips to the reef for snorkelling, a tour of the bay and villages from afar in the other long boat, and more kava if desired for your afternoon nap in a hammock.

Given the late start we returned an hour later than planned which was appreciated and the service from the staff during the day was outstanding. A special mention for Isaac who was very friendly and helpful for us. Highly highly recommend this day trip.

An hour trip from Pearl ,the village tour was interesting,we then went out snorkelling, and as a first timer was guided through the process and the guide stayed with me all the time with a buoy close by.Was a memorable experience. A nice traditional meal topped off with some Kava. More snorkelling and then on the way home had a line out and managed to land a striped Tuna just to make my day.Great experience.

I really wish I could give this company a better rating. We dealt with Rob who is a neat guy and did an awesome job sourcing a couple of extra boats along with his large 40 person boat for our private charter departing from The Pearl Resort. We were expecting up to 70 people for our post-wedding boat trip, though only about 50 ended up coming.

We paid for a 4 hour private charter and and the plan was to do a combination of snorkeling, kayaking, beach time and fishing on and around Beqa Island.

We agreed that the two smaller boats would do predominantly fishing and so we divided our group accordingly. The group in the large boat would focus on snorkeling and kayaking, and for guests not keen on the water activities, Rob had said our guests could use an accompanying smaller boat to land on Beqa Island for some beach time or a wee hike ($10FJD fee to the village for this option).

Unfortunately, the smaller boats did not do the planned extra fishing as requested and basically just followed the big boat. This was a real disappointment to the blokes who came for the fishing.

There were only 3 kayaks for our entire group (and one was used by crew for half the time).

There was only enough snorkelling masks for at most half of our group. This could have been much worse had all 70 of our guests turned up. Some of the masks were mouldy.

When we asked if we could be taken to the Beqa shore for some beach time, the crew said we either had to swim there or use a kayak. Not what we had been told prior. Some of our older guests had only come for the beach on Beqa and could neither swim nor kayak, so they missed out hugely.

On top of that, the large boat departed late by about 15 mins and we left Beqa a lot earlier than anticipated. So while we paid for 4 hours, we really only had he boats for around 3.5 hours.

There was no safety briefing and one of our smaller boats engines cut out a couple of times.

As a host to my guests, I did feel disappointed that I had let some of them down by giving them promises I didn't deliver, even though it was out of my control. I totally understand that with large groups and being in the islands you just have to 'go with the flow' with some of these things. But still, we were told what to expect, and some of our expectations just weren't met.

Our guests did have a good time though. The weather was beautiful and the setting was picturesque. The snorkeling, for those who had the opportunity to do it, was reportedly excellent. Despite not having as much fishing as planned, the boys still managed to catch 3 good sized fish which was shared for dinner that night.
