About
This Alabama Dolphin Tour is brought to you by Dolphins Down Under in Orange Beach, Alabama. These new custom vessels are of the most stable of boats, and our knowledgeable Captains and crew will guide you and your family on an exciting, informative and educational quest in the smooth pristine waters of the back bays to watch dolphin frolic and play in their natural environment. Minutes away from Gulf Shores, Alabama! Each vessel is equipped with four large glass panels(2.5' x 6.5' each - 65 square ft total) so that you have a chance to view the dolphins if they play and swim beneath the keels of the boats. You will also have the chance to see Osprey Fish Eagles, the Great Blue Heron, and many other wetland creatures and birds in our bay area. The tours last about 1½ hours, and there are marine restroom facilities available, as well as a snack bar and fitted life vests for children and infants. We guarantee that we'll see dolphins on our trips, and when we get the rare chance to see them under the boat, its a real treat!

Our family and friends went on the dolphin cruise and loved it! We saw tons of dolphins and Captain Smitty made every effort turning the boat and waiting to make sure everyone saw the dolphins. Felt safe the entire trip and enjoyed a beautiful time boating and seeing the wildlife. I highly recommend this! Very reasonably priced.

My family and I decided to go on the dolphin tour on our last day of vacation. I’m so glad we chose glass bottom to take us out. We had kids of all ages including teenagers and everyone had a great time. The captains were very friendly and kept everyone entertained throughout the trip. We saw many dolphins and were served delicious mixed drinks. I would definitely recommend using glass bottom for your dolphin tour on your next visit.

The staff and boat crew were great. Drew and Schmidty were knowledgeable and entertaining. We saw a few dolphins, enjoyed the ride in the gulf and enjoyed our time on the boat. The glass bottom was uneventful but it didn’t take away from the experience. I’d recommend it.

This was terrible. We literally only circled a shrimp boat the whole time & only saw 2-3 dolphins. I was very disappointed & the name ''glass bottom boat'' is extremely deceiving as there are only little areas to see & even then you can't see anything but green water. It was also more expensive than the other dolphin tours. Not worth it in my opinion.

We had a wonderful time on our subset cruise. My two grandsons were so excited to see the dolphins. Adam and his crew were great. We were even able to get to the gulf and see all kinds of wildlife. The homes on ONO were gorgeous. We will be back

This is one of those times where later on you say to yourself "I should have known!" I called the number online to book this excursion for myself, my husband and our 2 kids for the last day of our Gulf Shore vacation. I found the number for this business through the Gulf Shore tourist section and called for a reservation. When the phone was answered I was abruptly told that I would be called back within in five minutes. After waiting a few hours with no return call, I called back and was repeatedly hung up on. Finally getting through the woman who answered tried to make nice and apologized for not returning my call, stating that she had become to busy. I accepted her apology and went ahead with booking, leaving my credit card info. and return numbers. She mentioned that GPS's didn't work properly in her area and to giver her a call back for directions when we head out. The morning of the excursion we awoke early, checked out and called the number given. After finally getting through the prompts our call was answered with a hang up. My husband called back the second time and received a busy signal. We looked up the site again on our phone and put in Google maps the address given on the website. After driving a ways and not finding this omniscient address I rechecked the website and I called the number given for a third time. Still no response. So my husband then calls and follows the prompts that are the "directions" to this place. There are NO signs visible from the road for this business and we passed the building before realizing maybe that was what they were describing. I called again because we were now running a few minutes late and wanted to talk to someone to let them know our situation. Again still no answer. Fast forward..we finally park, find the dock and have to ask the coke vending machine man if this is the meet up spot. I figured they would have a building, store front, SOMETHING! But no just a sign by the dock, and their two pontoons. The vending machine man laughed and said that he usually see's people milling around there and that someone should come along. So we decide to sit on the bench and wait. A lady from the charter office a few feet down comes out of her building and shouts" Are you all waiting for the tour?" My husband shouts back "yes". She then tells us that the 10 o'clock tour has been canceled. That she was asked to leave a message for us that we could not take the 10 o'clock, because not enough people reserved it and that we could wait and take the 2 o'clock one. My husband is visibly irritated and she says "I'm not with them, I was just asked to leave the message." I of course am angry, we have checked out of our room, are going to head back that same day and they want us to wait another 4 hours for a tour we already reserved. My husband calls again and this time AMAZINGLY gets a human! He is told sorry for the inconvenience but they would charter us for the next one. My husband tells them that is crappy, especially since no one bothered to call, wait at the dock or answer the phone for the past hour. We decline the offer and left Gulf Shores with two upset kids and a sour end to our otherwise great vacation.

They have a few glass panels that have 4 foot walls around them. You can't see anything. But the staff does not even use them during the Dolphin Tour, despite their ads. The boat barely leaves the dock area...they must save a ton on fuel....and you sit in the bay looking for dolphins that barely surface. They also say it is a 90 minute tour. We were back in just under 75 minutes...THANK HEAVENS! Don't waste your time or money.

The "glass bottom" was misleading, it was a very small box in the bottom of the boat. The tour guide/captain and another boat merely herded a couple of dolphins in our general area, but they were too far away to see well, much less get any pictures. Not worth the money.

This was the biggest rip off I've ever seen. My mom and I paid $92 and wasted every penny. The boat was described to be a glass bottom catamaran, but it was just a regular boat. They also said that we would see all kinds of tropical fish and the featured animal was supposed to be dolphins. They took us 5 minutes from the marina to a bunch of dirty old rocks where we swam around for an hour and a half in 4 ft of murky water. There were no dolphins, no tropical fish, not even hermit crabs could be found! We saw more at the public beach for a small $5 parking fee! Don't waste your money on this!

Yes they guarantee to see dolphins, but the cruz was in line for elderly people. We never left the channel and we never saw anything through the glass bottoms, because we never left the channel. We cruzed at a snails pace in circles around docking areas for too long, but we did see dolphins, so they technically succeeded with their mission. They say they go where the dolphins are and that day, it wasn't in the ocean. Lucky us. My kids were bored and the rest of the family had to drink cocktails to get by, thank God for the cash bar. Then they all blamed me for choosing this "Adventure". Don't waste your money. You could see the dolphins the same way we did, standing on the beach in the early morning or the evening.
