Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a good place to relax and unwind your self in a calm and peaceful environment. You can meditate and see the exhibit and library. There is a small shop selling small things made by Ashram workers. Certainly this place is worth visiting.

A wonderful place to visit for solace of mind. A very tranquil and pleasant place to visit. Sri Aurobindo Samadhi is a place where one can sit down and meditate in the evening. A very quiet place indeed. The library is also very good and gives you an insight into the Renaissance Movement of India.

Rishi Aurobindo's (Indian Freedom fighter, Philosopher, Sage) ancestral home...Extremely blissful place.....If you are going through any pain or sorrow or rough patch in life, do visit this place to feel total bliss and be one with divinity...the place is tendered with lot of love and care and it exudes in the atmosphere...you can visit the reading library or become its member, visit the museum upstairs with relics and photographs of Sri Aurobindo and Mother, buy honey, incense, soap, books, photos, pendants, spices, handmade items and ayurvedic medicines from the little shops near the entrance, peek at the children's library or gym, stroll in the garden, or simply spend some hours reflecting and meditating at the courtyard on the backside which has a bust of the Rishi...What a wonderful place to be amidst the chaos, cacaphony and the disturbing life outside...The museum is free of cost and so are the lectures on Gita and other scriptures which are held almost daily in the evenings...

A serene place. Meditate or just spend some time in quietness with yourself. The place remains open from 11 am to 5 pm. The upper floor opens at 4 pm. The public meditation timings are Thursday and Sunday 7 pm. The premises hold a bookstore and a micro and small scale industry store with reasonably priced incense sticks spices biscuits shampoos and other items made by ashram workers.

Birth place of the great freedom fighter sri Aurbindo who started a spiritual community and the ashram is dedicated to the community. The place hosts a library, reading room, cultural setup etc. The place also organizes meditation classes and other spiritual activities. The place houses the samadhi or resting place of Sri Aurbindo Ghosh. The surrondings are beautiful and full of peace, big trees and beautifully maintained garden adds to the beauty.

A serene and blissful atmosphere! You can meditate in the prayer room! Outside the garden is not well maintained! Needs attention! We purchased a few knick knacks from the shop selling products prepared by Aurobindo ashram people. The book shop is also nice! Overall a quiet place to unwind and seek solace of mind!

The place is in a deplorable state. Garbage is dumped. The garden is an eyesore. There is no signage indicating the way to the exhibits. Approach of staff is lackadaisical. On being asked about the location of the exhibits, a lady opened a door and told us to go upstairs. Nobody bothered to switch on the lights for us. With much difficulty we viewed the exhibits in the dark.

Nothing much at this place. A big open courtyard at the back with a bust of Rishi Aurobindo and a covered prayer room. By the side is his statue overlooking the different activity centres.
