Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For me, Paharganj was the place to be, as it has the hustle & bustle I am looking for when in Delhi.

However, it is a bit of a shady area, with drugged up people laying on the corners of the streets, and it can definitely be a bit overwhelming when staying in Delhi for the first time. Consider South Delhi if rather would like a clean & safe area.

Very dirty area. After just little drizzle area just becomes unwalkable. Close to New Delhi station and everybody wants to just loot other people. Even the dhabas have bad food and people mostly don't think of others.

If one allows surrender. You don't fight it You take it in. Paharaganj will be ok. Filled with dirtiness, touts and India, there is a beauty that sits beneath her surface.

I will never forget this place. There is beauty in every corner, walking down the main bazaar made me fall in love with India and then walking back to my hotel I fell in love all over again. It is beautiful, bustling and bright. I recommend this and if you are a shy person like me, get used to saying “No!”

1. Paharganj is a part of old Delhi and a resident of old school businesses.
2. This place is not recommended for first-time visitors for the right reasons due to the complexity of the area.
3. You will find various tourist attractions connected to this place along with hotels and eateries.
4. It is a complex locality due to its vast population and street connectivities.
5. Great for experiencing old school Delhi.
6. This locality is easily accessible by public and private transport.

1) This place is the ghetto of India. It is NOT for foreigners who are not experienced traveling to Asia. It is dirty, cheap, and raw.

2) If you want nice and affordable spot in Delhi metro area, South Delhi is the place to be. Middle Class area with young and hip environment.

3) Only reason to live in Paharganj is to experience poverty, not even affordability. Since South Delhi is very affordable.

Good area to shop around. Ideal for fabrics, scarves, clothes, teas and household goods like tiffins. We got some great bargains and prices are all reasonable.

It is busy but not as crazy as old Delhi so we found it okay to navigate around.

This area is a good place to stay, if you're looking for budget accommodation and at the same time looking to be close to some good shopping and sightseeing locations. The place is also close to two metro stations, making it easier to commute to more distant areas.
