Beautiful Beach- esp. when it's not crowded
Jul 2021
My husband and I arrived with another couple and friend by boat- by far the most convenient, quick, and scenic way to travel to Starfish Beach. It's pretty affordable if you come with a group. Plus, the captain brought a cooler with ice to keep all our beverages cold.

What a perfect day! The water was warm and perfectly blue, the beach wasn't too crowded (it was a weekday), and there were plenty of starfish and other sea life to keep us company. There were a number of huts selling food and drinks.

Definitely recommend spending a day at Starfish Beach!

Great beach, some sort of boat parking area needed
May 2021 • Couples
Nice relaxing beach, sort of. Take the Boca's del Drago bus out from the twin center. $5.00 round trip. 40 minute bumpy ride. Plenty to see. Walk 20 minutes from bus stop to Starfish Beach. Great short jungle/beach walk. Flat no hold easy to follow. Pick a spot to hang out.
Walk down to the south point of the beach and snorkel the trench, keep beach on your right. You will see starfish. Some are huge, dinner plate size.
Water is clear, mostly, boats everywhere so be careful. Food is affordable and good. Beer is cheap. Bathrooms are a bit sketchy.
We went twice, crowded the first time nearly empty the second time.

STARFISH GALONE
May 2021 • Solo
Come by boat or vehicle. There are places to get cheap food. I walked along the beach. Then I found a place that had snorkels and goggles. I bought them and snorkeled in my shorts. I saw lots of starfish. There were plenty of people on the beach and in the area generally. The beach could have been better kept up.

Worth the drive
Apr 2021
Our visit out to Starfish Beach to spend the day was perfect. You can have a quick stop at the beach on a boat tour, but it's best to go spend the day there, since they have great little Panamanian places to eat and drink. Also the water was super clear, and the beach was sandy.

Spring break... covid still taking a toll on tourism! It is a bumpy 30 min bus ride from bocas town, $2.50 pp. Sit by the window take in the countryside it's jungle and activity and farms etc. Once you arrive a short $ 1.00 pp boat ride gets you to the beach. Yes there are tables chairs loungers food drinks, we considered that accomodating and we're grateful for the facilities. Very little activity mid week, a couple of starfish c'mon if you seen one...it's not like they entertain. Stayed approx 3 hrs overall a great day

Sad

Very beautiful place but the locals are destroying it. Many panamean families go there with huge music boxes and listen to very loud music (impossible to find a quite place, it’s extremely loud everywhere) and the worst part is that they take the starfish out of the water to take pictures. And there are trashes everywhere!! I was shocked, it’s a shame!! :-(

Great Beach Vibe
Feb 2021 • Family
Starfish never disappoints for a relaxing beach vibe! Great fun. Local food! Sun, Sea and Sand. This is where to go for a good drink on the beach.

LOVED this place. Food, alcohol and water aplenty!

LOVED this beach! You can take a $3 water taxi from Drago or walk for about 15 minutes on a path to this beach. On the way back, since the tide was low, we walked back on the beach. Stunning scenery.

Don't need to pack food, water or alcohol. It's all up there and inexpensive. The beach might be a little narrow but it's long and wraps around the corner. We sat in the very first spot when we got there because it was quieter and no one else sitting there. We were there most of the day on Friday, and not once did it get crowded. Snorkeled and saw plenty of starfish. There were some fairly big ones!

Probably the loveliest day we had in Bocas. The ride up in the small white bus is a little bumpy but comfortable. Only $2.50 one way.

Pristine and Calm Waters
Nov 2020 • Solo
The water is clear. The water is calm, without waves - one can actually get in the water, even sit, and relax. While the name remains, sadly, there are not many starfish left in the area. A few restaurants on the beach/island.

Ok nothing to rave about

A very narrow beach with a bar and some average eating places, oh and the lone star fish, got chased off the beach by a very long barton welding policeman
