Wildlife Safari in Wilpattu National Park - Afternoon Game Drive

Situated close to the historic city of Anuradhapura in the north west of Sri Lanka, Wilpattu became a National Park in 1938. The park takes its name from the numerous lakes, known as Willu, that are dotted throughout the park. Wilpattu National Park has the unique feature of many natural lakes, which are sand-rimmed water basins or natural depressions in the land that fill with rainwater, creating beautiful lakes. These natural lakes are hotspots for all sorts of animals to gather for a refreshing drink and bathe, especially in the dry summer months. Wildlife in Wilpattu National Park includes 31 species of mammal, including the sloth bear, the Sri Lankan elephant and the elusive leopard. Afternoon safari is the best to spot many animals.
• Two way hotel transfers included
• Hear commentary from an expert guide
• Witness the highest concentration of leopards at Wilpattu

There are so many Pagoda in my country Thailand, but this pagoda is bigger than all of that. As being a Buddhist, I am very sensational to be here.

Calmness and Sacredness of Ruvanweliseya with it's venerated 'Stupa' will definitely bring you inner peace. If you visit the Stupa with suitable attire (white recommended) in an afternoon (recommended after 4pm, when the Sun is setting, otherwise it will really be burning hot) you can meditate well and experience you inner peace !

It is a magnormous edifice which no one can escape from seeing if one is in the sacred area of Anuradhapura. Built 140 years B.C the stupa is enshrined with sacred relics of Lord Buddha. The stupa is in a tranquil environment. The perimeter wall of the stone paved upper terrace (salapathala Maluwa) is decorated with forepart of Elephants making it a very attractive feature. Cylindrical neck "Devatha kotuwa" just above the tee cube "Hatharas kotuwa" has beautiful sculptures. The design, decorations and the structure are fascinating.
