Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I've always wanted to go to Morocco but when i finally had the chance, i knew i wanted to see more than those famous magical cities like Fez and Marrakesh. Luck was with me and i was able to discover and book a 3 day tour with Brahim who runs Caravane Desert et Montagna. I wanted to see the UNESCO heritage site Ait Ben Haddou (now famous as a backdrop for Game of Thrones. I wanted to see the ancient caravan route from Morocco to Timbuktu.
But even more than that, i wanted to understand the cultures and the people who inhabit this historic crossroads of the world.
Brahim us the man for that job! He is Berber and grew up in the Zagora area. He has written much about the culture and the people, Arab, Berber and Nomad. He is n pu w completing a PhD in Anthropology with a dissertation on these cultures.
Three things stand out:
1. He knows EVERYBODY! We visited a cooperative for making pottery, a school for nomads' children accessible only by 4x4 or camel, a Berber family raising goats in the desert and, most amazingly, the man i spotted on the horizon walking a camel alone across the desert... he recognized as a dear old friend of 20 years! We caught up with him, got his story, (ask Brahim for details), gave him a protein bar and let him get on his way. (See photo).
2. He plans a terriffic trip, but that's only the beginning. Yes we took the 4x4 to the tent camp in Erg Chigaga. Yes I road a camel as the sun set over the dunes. Yes we found rocks with evidence of ancient fossils. Of course he encountered nomad friends that we visited with near the camp. But since he has so many interests, i also learned about water shortages, saw the effects of climate change, discussed the country's education system, and more. He also works with scientists on fissils, anthropology, birds, astronomy etc. He even went out of the way to find and explain what happened to local synagogues when much of the Jewish population moved to Israel in the 1960's.
So he is a walking education on so many topucs related to the area!
3. He is very compaionable, great company on a long trip!
I'd give him TEN stars!

Brahim and his team have created a tour that feels very authentic. It was a pleasure to get away from the tourist trail and learn more about the area, Desert and local history from our very knowledgeable guide. Mubarak was an incredible cook and we ate some of the best food of our trip to Morocco. Brahim was wonderful and engaging with our two children. A no frills, genuine experience that we would definitely recommend.

I contacted Brahim to arrange a 9 day tour of Southern Morocco. Brahim was nothing short of excellent in his communication with me, eliciting our requirements and ensuring that he went above and beyond to meet them. Brahim’s driver collected us from our Riad in Marrakesh and then proceeded to look after our every need while we toured the south. Brahim ensured that we saw lots of culture along the way, we had picnics in remote places and were able to observe Moroccan life during the Eid celebrations. We met nomads and watched the wonderful sight of hundreds of goats being reunited with their young following their days work. We explored Berber villages and kasbahs and stayed in some fabulous accommodations that we would never have found by ourselves. We loved the desert experience and 4 x 4 off roading and camel trekking. Brahim is genuinely a lovely person who works in an ethical and caring manner in order to preserve the country and culture around him. Can thoroughly recommend.

We have spent 3 days with Brahim in the desert and enjoyed it very much. Brahim is an amazing guide, who answered all of our many questions and explained a lot about the desert, it's animals and the people living there. It became very clear that he cares a lot about the nomads and preserving the culture of the desert. If you are looking for a guide that does not only show you the tourist sites and goes the extra way to make your trip exactly as you imagined it, I can highly recommend Caravane Desert et Montagne!

We had a great journey! Brahim is a very welcoming and friendly person, who has a deep understanding of the desert and it’s culture. We learned a lot about the nomad life style, gained new experiences and still had time to relax in the dunes and under the overwhelming night sky. The only sad thing is, that we forgot to take a picture with Brahim and the best driver of the desert, Mohammed. See you next time!

We had an unforgettable experience at the Erg Chigaga dunes. Most tour companies offer similar basics - transportation to/from the dunes, a decent place to stay and food. We wanted a deeper experience and found it with Brahim. We wanted to know more about the local culture, see places off the main road that we wouldn't have seen on our own. Brahim was friendly, knowledgeable and always happy to answer our questions. He clearly wanted us to get the most out of the experience so that we left with unforgettable memories and he certainly delivered!

We returned from Morocco and the memory of the 5 days with Brahim will remain with us forever. Brahim's warmth kindness and vast knowledge and genuine connection with the local people and environment made it very special. We travelled with two adults and a 7 year old and had an amazing Sahara desert trip. Highly recommended trip for a family with children.

I have travelled with Brahim who runs this agency many many times. His intimate knowledge of this region is second to none. He has a genuine relationship with many of the nomad families as well as the villagers in South Morocco. If you are interested in Fez Marrakech etc forget it....Brahim is a specialist in the south Morocco Sahara and sub Sahara region. We worked together for many years running trips for people from all over the world from 4x4 trips to family tours to adventure trekking. He has escorted leading academics, advised production companies working with major television networks, and has even worked with the British army who approached us for cultural training. Without hesitation i would recommend anyone who would like to visit this region and see it through the eyes of a person who knows the people's, country, culture so well to get in touch. One of the most honest people I have ever met I consider Brahim still a great friend and know that any one who travels with him will be superbly looked after.
