Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed this activity not for the scenery, but for seagulls. A flock of birds approached the boat for their feed. Feeding was really fun while kids screamed. Shorter course was enough, because a bag of feed was used up for about 20 minutes. A signboard says seagulls only come from December to February.

I took this 'cruise' in 1956 but my memory of it is quite clear. My friend and I shared the boat with a contingent of middle- and high-school teachers, none of whom spoke any English. The boat carried perhaps 60 passengers and make many stops around the lake until dripping us off at Kanzan-ji where we spent a wonderful 3-day visit perfectly timed to be present at the festival of the dead. Fireworks and floating candles everywhere. Our small hotel had a TV-watching room but the only channel shown had 24-hour broadcasts of sumo wrestling. My friend and I each had our own service girls who actually fed us our meals! Perfectly innocent. We watched presentations from geishas-in-training schools with children ranging in age from 6 to about 12 years old danced and sang to us; most charming. Today there are large hotels there and it is a major resort area for those getting away from city life. Photos available on request.
