No mall department stores here. Grab a slice of pizza or glass of wine. Lots of fun and cool stores to buy fun stuff. Hoppy daddy burger joint is always crowded. Or buy a pair of cool boots at Allen. Shop at the Toms house...More

Had a great time wandering in and out of the stores on SOCO. Wide variety of shops and items for sales. Also some street performers. Great for people watching.

We walked all over the street, grabbed some food and had some drinks. Very laid back place with a lot happening. Will definitely come back.

This is a great area with lots of local shops and restaurants. Many great places for clothing, toys or souvenirs of Austin. Plenty of free street parking. A must see if in Austin.

For such a large city this section of Congress Street stores seems to be the only place to find any affordable gifts - but varies from the really tacky to the not quite so tacky. Everyone was very pleasant and generally it was just funky...More

Yes, most definitely the shops are open pretty much year-round except for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

There are several on or just off of S. Congress, mostly boutique hotels. The exception is the South Congress Hotel, a full-service hotel right in the middle of the S.Congress activity. Boutique hotels include the Austin... More
