Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

These are free buses which go around the city stopping at various tourists and other stops along the way. There is a useful map at most stops. However the downside is that these buses seem to be very, very popular (both with tourists and it seems like the locals too) and at certain times and locations it can be difficult to find a seat on those buses or even a room to stand! If possible try and use other services. For example the KL TravelPass includes some free travel on certain inner city services which can be a useful alternative that does not cost any extra money if you have already bought that pass.

The Go KL bus service is free and covers 4 routes. Puple line goes from Bukit Bintang to Chinatown. The Blue line goes from Bukit Bintang towards Chow Kit. The Green Line goes from Bukit Bintang to KLCC (Petronas Twin Towers) and the Red Line goes from Chow Kit to KL Central. They normally run every 15 minutes and can be very packed.

The bus is great if you know where to get on and off however these buses can be crowded during peak hours like rush hour. Once you know what you are doing, you can use these buses to get around town to many of the major attractions. But if you want more of a guided tour of the town then take the Hop on Hop Off buses. GoKL buses are best for long term visitors who have more time and patience to wait for an empty bus during rush hour or avoid rush hour altogether. Free bus system, very easy to use (but not all stops are accurate) and a great way to explore the city. A tip is to ride each bus all the way around it's route so then you will get an idea of where they stop/pick up and where they connect to other GoKL buses.

Excellent bus service provided free to Malaysian as well as tourists in city centre, with air conditioning and free wifi. There are 4 lines: purple, green, red and blue with different routes. I used the green line mostly, frequency every 5-10 minutes. Clean and efficient. Malaysia’s pride! Hope they maintain the good service 👍🏻

This is a great service covering a lot of ground, but traffic in KL often means there are hold-ups and there is a long wait time between buses. I recommend getting on, staying on, and then deciding where you may want to get off for one or two sites. The ticket is for 24 hours so it can be spread over two days which is awesome.

Unlike other cities, GoKL is for both the residents of KL and the tourists running from 6 AM to 11 PM. The frequency is every 10 to 15 minutes. There are buses with different colours like purple, yellow, blue etc. One can change from one bus to another at several intersecting points. These are airconditioned with free wifi and very good seats. We used them on the last day of our 6 days stay in KL. We recommend that your hotel should be on the route of one of these buses.

We brought a ticket for the GO KL buses which takes you on 2 different routes around KL and stops at all major attractions. It’s a great service with really friendly staff. I would like to recognise Lace who provided excellent commentary throughout our journey on the garden (green) route. She highlighted so many interesting buildings and attractions and was very informative. I would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to learn more about the city and its history.

My apartment building is right next to the bus station. A common site is 5-10 busses just sat at the terminal with the bus drivers talking to each other leaving a crowd of people waiting. Taking the bus from any other stop and your guaranteed to wait up to 45 minutes for a supposed 10 minute wait according to the signs. For example, the blue line bus will have possibly 4 at a time parked at the terminal leaving maybe 1 or 2 on the road actually making rounds. The drivers and lazy and there seems to be no supervision over them. Also don’t be surprised if the driver passes you at the bus station without stopping. This has happened to me multiple times even with empty busses. Only positive is that it’s free, but your better off taking grab or the monorail/trains

Bus drivers need to learn how to communicate with the public and smile. Too serious. The driver knew where we wanted to get off but ignored us. Rung bell to stop kept going . Tourism is a big factor in regards to employment. We as tourists were Not happy today with the green line bus

Still operating as usual, pay attention inside the bus because in certain hours there are a lot of workers using this bus and quite crowded. Be aware of pickpocket as well

We will be staying in Swiss Garden Residences Hotel with address 2A Jalan Galloway 117 Jalan Pudu Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for June 12-17, 2019,can the free KL Bus bring us also to our hotel after KL City destination?
What time the GO KL City Bus operate?
Where can we find this bus in our hotel area in particular?
Written 9 June 2019
You may download the map for free from GoKL official webpage (sorry cannot insert link here)
The hotel is near to where purple line operates (look at the downloaded map now), specifically KL 108 Kotaraya and KL 86 Bukit Bintang bus stops. Check the bus stops' position in Google map. KL 108 is slightly nearer to the hotel, but if you are already traveling within Bukit Bintang area, you may opt for KL 86 stop. Do note that both are very popular and crowded bus stops.
Once on the bus, announcement of the next stop may not be playing, or not clearly audible, so have the map handy at hand. Do take note that the hub for purple line is KL 1821 Pasar Seni (see map). At KL 1821 bus station, alight from the bus and walk to the bus in front of the line and board it, which should be departing soon. Now with the map and using the same rules, you may plan to transfer and use other lines to suit your itinerary. The map shows where you could transfer between lines. For e.g. KL 9 Wisma Boustead bus stop allows transfer from purple to blue line.
To know the time the bus operates, go to the GO KL oficial page and scroll down to find out, which states...
Working day: 0600-2300 hrs
Weekends and holidays: 0700-2300 hrs
0700-1000 hrs & 1600-2000 hrs every 5 min frequency
Other hrs every 10 min frequency
Exact time can also be found from Google map. For e.g., search for KL 108 Kotaraya, and time of the next bus will be listed. However, on the ground, bus will surely arrive but at unexpected time than Google map. Do expect buses and popular bus stops to be packed with passengers and take precautions with belongings while in the crowd.

Hii...
How can i take a bus from red bay sirocco hotel?? Dang wangi?
Written 19 May 2019
Hi there,
I just had a look on one of the websites showing the different lines and routes, and my suggestion is that you use google maps and find the line that goes closest to your hotel and then use the moovilapp website or another website that shows all the lines that GPKL buses use. I could do that for you, but I think you could do it too. I never heard of your hotel by the way :).

Hi....
How can i go to dang wangi from kuala lumpur airport by GO KL City bus?
Written 25 March 2019
Hi, Go KL bus doesn't operate from the airport. Take the Klia Express train to KL Sentral, one of the GO KL buslines has a stop there, check the destinations.

Good day! I have researched on the Go KL bus routes but i get to read answers of a year ago or much older dates. my concern is, what gokl bus color should i get on from kl sentral to sani hotel? what station should i alight? is gokl still offering free bus service around cbd as of january 2019?
Written 1 January 2019
At the GO KL bus stop or from the hotel take a copy of the leaflet which gives all the routes of different colour buses and you can decide which bus to take and where to change to reach your destination.

Todos terminan parando en Bukit Bintang y sus recorridos se extienden por las zonas más céntricas de KUL. Puedes acceder a su página web y podrás obtener información de las líneas y sus trayectos.
