You can see the temple grounds from the observation deck of the kyoto tower....that's how we knew of the place....
It's worth a wander after you have been to kyoto tower...It's a working temple and there was a prayer session there when we wandered around...
Kōshōji is a Jōdo-Shinshū Buddhist Temple (Pure Land Buddhism), located next to its bigger brother Nishi-Honganji in central Kyōto. The interiors are dazzling, in typical Pure Land fashion. It is next door also to a quaint university campus.
