The temple is only 5 min. on foot from Sanzenin temple. Though people come to Sanzenin, less people aware this temple. When I visited on weekend, there were a few people and the atomosphere was quiet and nice.

Raigo-in might be not as impressive or large as sanzen-in, but if you want to escape the crowds it is a good idea to walk up the hill (sometimes there is not a single other guest). It is also only 400 yen entrance. The garden...More
