This ski field is excellent as a day trip from Sapporo. Beginners don't go to Highland, start off at Olympia as the courses at the tops aren't really for you. The powder is great and not as busy as some of the more famous resorts.

Although a small ski resort it has the most incredible view. You can see out over Sapporo from the mountains and even out of sea.

this is a good place to go for skiing. night skiing is pretty cheap. Easy access to the place via JR Teine station. You have to take a bus from the station to the ski resort.
