The Sacred Heart Cathedral is quite a unique place to visit in Guangzhou. The building is quite iconic and stands out from the rest of the area. You can also visit the Cathedral from inside, and there are specific times to visit. So plan ahead.

A must see. Also known as "The Stone House" The architecture is amazing. It is built out of granite. I could have sat for hours inside and calmly reflected on life.

It was a nice contrast to the markets surrounding the Cathedral. It is a typical structure with refurbished stained glass. Great place to sit for a while after a long morning walking through the noisy streets.

We were there before noon. There were people there, but not overwhelmingly so. Of course we went in mid-April and a non Catholic holiday, so that might be a factor.
