I am visiting this place since 1960. Every year there are changes by the Saudi government to make the visit easy. This time the new wonderful and very beautiful SHUHADA masjid was opened for the prayers.

This is the same as uhud mountain. A battle field with a cemetry in which Hamza the uncle of the prophet is buried.

An oldest worrier in the battle of Uhud Hamzah (A.S.) & uncle of prophet Mohammed (S.A.) was buried here & his grave can be seen only from the grill as entrance is prohibited.

It is a must go... But have no illusions. Ohud is one of many main stops in Madinah, and many people arrive by bus, taxi or car, but the place is literally abandoned... Few locals selling dates spices and souvenirs on the ground... The graveyard...More
