Coffee Tour
Feb 2021 • Couples
Excellent tour. Our guide, Cesar, did an amazing job. Not limited to the coffee plantations but expanded to birds (he is an ornithologist) and the whole coffee production chain.

Unsanitary
Feb 2020 • Couples
The biggest problem with this tour is at the tasting table. Everyone is given a spoon and you are instructed to walk around the table and slurp ( literally, that’s what we were told to do) from 4 different cups of coffee that are placed around the table. You are instructed to dip your spoon in hot water between slurps but the whole concept is unsanitary. Fortunately, one woman who had a cold declined to participate. For $35 per person they should’ve given us EACH, a little sample in our own cups. I hope no one in our group (all 5 other strangers except for my wife) had a communicable disease. You do get a cup of coffee at the end of the tour along with a piece of cake. Another large problem was our guide Eddie. His English was poor and he did a lousy job explaining the different processes. Lastly, when we went to buy a 250 mg bag of their estate coffee, they were out. They only had the 500 mg bag in stock. How can that be? I hear Finca Don Pepe does a good tour so you might check with them. I should’ve taken the $75 (total) we paid for the tour and the $30 we paid for cabs and just bought numerous bags of coffee from different places. The grounds are very nice though and they have hiking and birding.

Amazing Coffee Tour
Mar 2020 • Friends
We would really recommend doing a coffee tour at Finca Lerida. It's a beautiful place and we learned a lot about the history of coffee as well as the production process from our guide Ronaldo. In the end you do a tasting of the different types of coffee, which is also a great experience.

Amazing coffee tour - thanks!
Aug 2019 • Friends
Today we had a coffee tour on the finca lerida. Some Panamanian guys recommended it to us and it was worth it! We had a tour just for us two, so probably it was a privat tour and the guy told us loads about coffee, the plantation, the history, the different types of coffee plants. Not only about coffee, also plants and especially birds since he studied birds. It was just amazing and a very relaxing tour - we loooved it!
In the end we had a tasting of four different roasting, absolutely great and authentic after the tour!
In the shop we got a coffee and some desert as well.
All in all just the perfect first coffee experience!

Interactive and fun coffee tour with Cesar
Nov 2018 • Couples
We picked the coffee tour for the Finca Lerida as it was on the offer from our Boquete Inn. We had Cesar as our guide which even tough not the usual guide for coffee tours (apparently his specialty is bird watching) made us laugh and enjoy the tour a lot.
We started with a bit of history, went into the coffee plantation next to the Finca, again had a discussion around coffee with some jokes and hints to birds and then moved to the processing building to end up where we started in the 1st floor having a tasting of coffee.

All in all the tour was good organized with interesting information and facts as well as a few jokes from Cesar and a bit of information about the fauna and flora of the region and not only coffee "knowledge".

My only remark is that the tasting room is a bit on the small side especially when you have groups of 17 people and plus. As well the tasting cups if you share one cup for 4 people that is not very hygienic. I can share a coup with my boyfriend but don't want to drink from another couple. So might want to reconsider having a few more cups to give the people the option of actually tasting the final coffee.

There is also a small coffee shop if you want to stay and have another cup of coffee or even tea. And you have the option of buying different types of coffee even the awarded Geisha one. I can say that from all that we bought from them, the Honey, the Natural, the Geisha all were very nice to prepare and drink. So definitely worth it to buy if you have some additional kg in your luggage as you won't find it at least not in Europe.

Definitely a tour to take and a place to visit if you are in Boquete.

Very good coffee tour

Lerida is known for his Geisha coffee, among other things. Eddy is the perfect guide. A very nice plantation where you can also spend the night.

A very pleasant walk
Mar 2019 • Couples
We chose the cheap option at this delightful coffee farm and boutique hotel i.e a self guided walk. $12 each got us the map and a bottle of cold water each and if we set through the delightful tropical gardens through the coffee plantations and into the selva. The garden areas and coffee plantation is particularly good for small birds which are hard to see in the forest. Afterwards we had a coffee and an empanada at the coffee shop. Needless to note, the coffee was very good indeed. So, pleasant morning spent in an idyllic and quiet location.

A great birding session with Cesar
Nov 2018 • Couples
We had the chance to do a birding trek on the Finca Lerida estate with Cesar and we can wholeheartedly recommend it to nature lovers. The trails are great but the knowledge and friendliness of Cesar are even better. It is a beautiful and relaxing experience and Cesar shares his impressive knowledge of the species and nature throughout.

Birding with César Caballero
Apr 2018 • Couples
Beautiful 4,5 hour birding hike around finca Lerida. César is an excellent birding guide and we enjoyed his knowledge not only about the birds but also about the flora around the finca. He takes his time also afterwards to provide you with a list of the many birds we spotted. Definitely one of our best birding experiences.
