Departed hotel at 4 AM to get there for 6 AM sunrise. Super rough grueling ride in the dark on the way up. Some got motion sick. Sunrise and views of oceans on both of Panama’s coasts from the peak were great. Still not certain...More

Not sure whether to laugh or cry, to praise or curse. It was a brutal hike at 13km each way and about 1600m in elevation change (3475m at the top). We started around 11:00pm and reached the summit just before 6am. We took it really...More

We took a walk on the "sendero los Quetzales" with an Excellent guide, (John). He spotted seven quetzals, a pair of toucanettes, and a bell bird among dozens of others . We likely wouldn't have seen much without his help.

There was a total of 9 of us that started out at midnight from the ranger station. 50 yards up the rocky incline our first hiker decided his knees couldn't take it. It's a good thing as well because the climb continues to be even...More

Hiked from the dirt road 3 KM to the ranger station. Before the hike we spent 60 minutes watch a few Quetzals. Beautiful birds. The hike up is steep with nice views.

Hi Elaine from Maine! Sometimes the accommodations offer a pick up service. If yours doesn't offer that service they'll know for sure, how to get back to Cerra Punta. Enjoy your trip
