An interesting historical place. Gives a good impression about the fate of this peninsula and about life in the past.

A very interesting Fort it really does look as you might imagine on the desert. Inside are artifacts showing how the Omani people lived as bedouins so many centuries ago. Palm houses rebuilt to show how everything is utilised on the tree to supplement their...More

Have to love the Arabs. The gatekeeper wanted to knock off 45 minutes early so we got 15 minutes to do a whirlwind foot around the fort. Worth visiting but come during the morning or very early afternoon if you want time to work through...More

A well restored fort, good to mooch around for an hour slowly. Be aware that it closes at 4pm (earlier on Friday). The guards happily charge full whack and then kick you out at 3.45!

Firstly- the reviews on trip advisor are mixed up between the khasab castle and the fort (which is actually known by locals as the kumzar castle). The khasab castle has the traditional boats out front, is on the main road to the Lulu supermarket and...More

This fort is relatively small compared to other Omani forts but their displays are excellent! Perfect end to our long weekend in Khasab!

A clean and organised fort. There are rooms on the sides with utensils and household items. A chamber where food used to be stored shows the locking system of those days too. In the courtyard, apart from boats, there are houses made from bamboo with...More
