The tour was amazing but be prepared to seat on a bus for a long time as you will get picked up first and then all other tourists will also be picked up before leaving. Nevertheless, it is worth it! Amazing sunset and 3 monkey species (proboscis, long-tailed macaques and silver leaf).

It’s fun to ride down the river and find long nose monkeys hidden on trees. There are many of them and you can observe them with a microscope. When it’s time for sunset, this awesome place becomes wonderful as beautiful sunset mix with lots of trees and peaceful river.
Dinner is okay, they serve chicken, shrimp, and vegetables
When it’s dark, you would watch hundreds of fireflies light the dark. You can even have them on your hands.
Thanks to the cool guide, Dudy, We had a wonderful time in Weston.
I hope you guys will visit and make a nice experience too:)

There were 3 choices that we were selecting for the firefly/probiscis monkey tour; Weston, Klias and Kawa. Weston was the farthest in location from KK but based on some reviews that we read, Weston was the 'least' touristy. Overall, i think we made a good choice. We were lucky because the weather was perfect; watching those monkeys in the wild was awesome to watch. Watching those fireflies at night in Weston was the best firefly show i've watched in my life. They were in different trees sparkling like Christmas trees.

Afternoon tea, check!
Proboscis monkeys seeing, check!
Dinner, check!
Fireflies, check!
Multilinguist guides, check!
Bright stars above you, additional experience!
Transportation to and from your hotel/hostel, check!
But the journey was long, about two hours and more if the traffic wasn’t smooth. Travelling was already tiring, but I do recommend going on this tour if you are a nature lover who’d love to see rare monkey species and fireflies. Also suitable for passionate photographers who are interested in sunsets, animals, sceneries.
Food served are all Halal.

Took around 2 hours from hotel to reach the jetty where we been transferred by boat to Jaafar River Lodge for some refreshment and thereafter proceed with the river cruise for watching proboscis monkeys, shore birds and sunset. 6pm local Malay cuisine dinner is served. At 7pm, continue with another river cruise to watch the amazing fireflies along the river banks. I should say it is fun but the proboscis monkeys are too far away though binoculars are provided.

This place was very good for seeing fireflies at night but if you wanted to see proboscis monkey it doesn't have much and must see it far away which isn't that clear at all. So total experience is good but not great.

It was rainy when we got to the Weston Wetlands via Amazing Borneo Tours. But that didn’t dampen our spirits. The skies cleared and lots of Proboscis Monkeys came out and sat on top of tree canopies in clear view. Binoculars were provided by our guide and our boat was the better ones with a top viewing deck. Tea break was provided at the Jaffaar River lodge and thereafter we went out along the river and observe the Monkeys for about an hour. Tye sunset was amazing. Then we went back to the lodge restaurant for dinner. After dinner we went out again and thousands of fireflies flocked to our boat. The guide mimicked their light signals to attract them. The rest of the thousands of fireflies were on the mangrove trees and they lighted the trees up with their blinking lights like Christmas trees. Spectacular indeed! The Weston wetlands indeed lived up to its name of “Little Kinabatangan”!
