Sendai's main train station has both shinkansen and regular train lines, but it is so much more than a train station. Major department stores, a huge number of restaurants, and above the street walkways for several blocks make this a vibrant place to be. For...More

First stop for any tourists arriving by Shinkansen to Sendai City. It is a large train station with many food shops around.

This is a stress free way to travel, and not to far for airport. I love the public transport in Japan, so good .

Busy Station as befits a bustling Sendai - gateway to Tohuku. Easy in and out and lots of hotels nearby. Also main and lower floors have both restaurants and gift shops. You can collect your last minute gifts for friends/family. Good choice and price points...More

Going around the station is a bit nightmare. It’s difficult to find a way to get to a destination. Even directions around the station don’t provide right way. To find a restaurant in the basement, I was walking around for 20 minuets.

JR and Shinkansen stations with lots of little shops and restaurants. There are also two small department stores attached to the station on either ends.

Richmond Hotel Premier Sendai is almost across the street from the station and is very close to shops and restaurants, reasonably priced business hotel, don't expect large rooms.
