Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An interesting shopping arcade. Lots of fast food places along with your typical arcade shops. Across the arcade, beyond the Okaido tram station is the Ropeway Street which takes you to the Castle cable car. It connects to the Gintengai Shopping Street. At the end of Gintengai street there is an escalator which takes you down to the Matsuchika Town, an underground shopping complex. Lots of interesting shops and places to eat and drink. Great place to be when it rains.

Beautifully done downtown shopping center. Many shops for cloths, gifts, eating, ceramics, sweet shops for ice cream and the likes. It's also covered in case of rain. A very nice and relaxing shopping environment.

This is one of the usual covered shopping streets you commonly find in Japan. This one spans just 3-4 blocks and is one of the shorter ones. It is however very wide and doesn’t feel crowded.

The stores are pretty standard. Usual restaurants.

Overall good for looking for a place to eat and to get a bit of shopping done. Otherwise wouldn’t go out of your way to get here.

It was the largest shopping street in Shikoku area. There were a lot of chain stores, pharmacies, restaurants and some local branded store.

It was very convenient to tourists.

However, it was at the same time very typical, nothing outstanding to differentiate itself from other shopping street in every other city.

This seems to be a theme in many Japanese cities, it's like a narrow roofed street lined with shops. It's spotless clean they wash the walkway every day and like all the cities we visited it had no litter of any kind anywhere. There is Karaoke bars and Pachinko arcades as well as some lovely shops and cafes.

Unlike so many underused arcades, Okaido is full of buzz, shoppers and excellent stores. Anchored on one end by Mitsukoshi and on the other end, nearly 1km away, by Takashimaya and Tokyu Hands, the arcade is filled with interesting shops and the usual restaurants, fast foods, bars and other distractions. It is unusually high- quality for an arcade. The buzz of shoppers and revelers lasts until the early hours, again in contrast to many other arcades.

Rather commercial but what you need to see and feel are concentrated in a street. Rather busy on all days. If you're tired of shopping, you can have a stroll at the park nearby for some fresh air.

There was a temp beer truck when i visited so was lucky to get some fresh beer from local breweries. Not too packed with tourists and can easily walk around to shop or get food. Location is great with hotels or bus stops around, staying at this area is really convenient when visiting Matsuyama city. There is a train from Dogo spring to here directly.
