I loved walking around this area mostly wondering what things were .... with everything from snakes in jars to leather purses made from whole frogs! It's a great way to experience the real culture of the area and get up close to the local life....More

There were lots of small shops where local people come shopping foods, daily stuff, and so on. Good to be able to see locals' life just on the back of downtown street.

It's on the major tourists' shopping street, but it's an alley, an alley with a solid walkway, off-shoot sidewalks and halls that are tentacle-like in relation to the main walkway, countless colorful shops and stalls, and a fish market that is a photographer's delight.

Excellent shopping street for all that souvenir or funky "only in okinawa" clothing item or shoes. That said, if you are taller than 1.78m and wear shoes larger than a US 8, don't bother looking for clothes or funky shoes
