I will put it 3.5 to 4 stars. Decent exhibits on the natural and anthropological history of Okinawa. Art exhibition mainly featured print making works (did not go for the special exhibitions). A good raining day suggestion.

Had to go to the museum while I was in Okinawa, coz I feel like the visit isn't complete without checking out the zoos and museums in any place when visiting a new town/city/country. Quite a nice place to walk about.

The Okinawa Prefecture museum is a must see site if you want to learn about the natural and cultural history of Okinawa. Especially significant is learning about the overthrow of the original Ryuku kingdom by the Japanese in the late1800's and the forced culturalization of...More

I ended up spending all day here. You start at prehistoric Okinawa and the path leads you all the way through the history of the Island and the war and finally to modern Okinawa. You look at things in a different way when you leave....More

We spent about 2-3 hours in the Okinawa Prefectural Museum & Art Museum. Most of the time was spent going through the Prefectural collection. It's very thorough, and interesting. There are audio guides available in English, though it was a bit confusing as to which...More

Naha has city busses and an excellent Monorail system which stops walking distance from most attractions. The cabs are also very reasonable.
