Lots of fresh seafood to purchase. Much smaller market than I imagined. Most of the seafood were still alive.

The fish market offers wide range of seafood, the most outstanding would be the great green turban shellfish. Fresh seafood can be purchased and poking arrangements can be made. After picking seafood you can enjoy the cooked seafood upstairs with a small preparation fee.

A fish market that has a local feel. In Hong Kong they are called wet markets. You can buy a fish and take it upstairs and have it cooked at one of the restaurants. I thought it was very unsanitary and some of the fish...More

Good place to visit day and night. Day time you have lots of stalls with Japanese sweets to Biwa's to fashion. At night there are some lively bars and eateries.

Don’t think you’re going to anything like Tsukiji when going to this, pretty small fish market. Has 2 floors, second floor has some restaurants, can get food for a decent price, small plate of sashimi for 500yen. Doesn’t get busy so don’t think you need...More

Although the place is not as clean as a typical Japanese market in the big cities, the variety of live and fresh seafood is quite good. Live seafood for sashimi is quite expensive but those that are ready to eat on trays starts from 500...More

There is grocery store outside the market, just short walk away from the fishmongers. They will direct you to the place. No worries.
