It was a cloudy day when we visited so it was a bit of a hit and miss but when the sun shines, the water is amazingly clear. The dead corals though can be disheartening. Do check the tide tables before you turn up. We...More

Had tried snorkelling at a couple of other beaches on Ishigaki, then we came to Yonehara. Great big beach with easy access, and the tide was just right for us, must have been midway, so the water was not too deep but plenty of room...More

Certainly worth a visit, restrooms and parking lot round the corner, beach is apparently cleaned contrary to other beaches in Ishigaki which are full of plastic garbage. Corals under water are largely bleached, unfortunately

Easy to get to by bus but very specific timetable. Be aware. Exceptionally beautiful coral/shell beach, crystal clear water. Friend went swimming and sea was shallow for a long way. We were there from high tide to low tide and started to see rocks appearing...More

Yonehara beach is a lovely spot to take a leisurely stroll off season when tourists are few and far between and few people are swimming. On the day we went, sunshine and clouds were altering - the view was great, we saw some giant crabs...More

Good beach, maybe a nice spot for diving but sand was not that soft with a lot of corals and small rocks, not too many people swimming there compared with Miyakojima’s beach, it might be normal for Ishigaki island.

Read a lot about this place due to concerns swimming with no nets and riptides. Looked up tides so we could come - via bus from Ishigaki City- which worked great as the bus driver made sure to let us off. There were plenty families...More

Instead of parking were everyone goes and paying an entrance fee we parked nearby and accessed the beach through the camp site for free. It is gorgeous and definitely one of the best beaches we have been on Ishigaki. You have to swim a bit...More

Just have to put the head underwater to see so many beautiful fishes!!! Come with a tent should be useful as there is not much shadow.

This beach was very beautiful, but what you cannot expect is that you can easily view the coral fishes by just standing in the water without immersed your head into it. All coral and fishes are attractive there. I can say it is comparable with...More
