This onsen goes way back—way way back! It’s a great place to try a traditional sand bath, in which you’ll get dressed in a robe and the staff will bury you in a hot sand pit for about 15 minutes. I’m not sure if there...More

The sand bath is worth a try at ¥1030; the regular hot bath is a bargain at ¥100. Be wary of the waiting times you are given for the sand bath - the "18 minutes" I was given turned into over an hour. The sand...More

It is safe though I would not want to have my 8 year old having the weird experience of being buried alive . In addition the temperature maybe too hot for the child .
