There are many shops and restaurants on the Higashimuki Shopping Street. With the added bonus of being very close to the train station, temples and the Deer Park

I entered this arcade shopping street by taking a small lane down from the Kofuku-ji Temple. The street is like so many others that can be found all over Japan with some nice looking restaurants, souvenir shops, cafes and general stores as well as street...More

A covered arcade in Nara, which is well worth the visit. There's a Daiso hundred yen shop here that is jam packed with bargains you never knew you needed. Good place for rice paper and origami paper, etc.

You will probably pass by this place either before or after you visited the Nara park. It is a long stretch of shops and restaurants where I took a walk and had my lunch after my visit to Nara park.

If you pass in Nara it's impossible to not see this street. It's a commercial street like many other with shops and restaurants... nothing special.

More unique shop[s and restaurants. Mochi making shop with fresh mochis was pretty amazing. Not as large as other cities which is exactly why we liked it.

The shopping street was not included in our itinerary that day. All of us were focused on the sites inside Nara park. The deer, gardens, temples, museums and everything else. It's only on the way back to the train station that we received a message...More

We saw some roof covered shopping streets in Japan but this was the one we liked most. Lots of different little shops and restaurants where you can easily spend one or two hours when you visit Nara.

This covered shopping arcade close to Nara Park. You can find all kinds of arts and craft shops, stores selling clothes and accessories both modern and traditional, and souvenir shops selling tea, rice crackers, stuffed deer toys, and traditional confectionery. Many of the shops are...More

Great place to get your souvenirs. It is very busy and a huge mix of people. Here you can get the more traditional Japanese gifts rather than tat. Can get very warm on a nice day as the streets very narrow.
