good transportation to bring you around hakodate. there are 2 lines (blue and red), do check before you board. fixed fare no matter where u board and alight. tourist 1 day pass unlimited ride available for purchase. i bought from the hotel i stayed in.

Took a tram down a few blocks for dinner at a recommended restaurants. The trams give a nostalgia feeling to us and a great system and we found it easy to use even speaking no Japanese.

JR pass is generally only for train. But there are some other cards that can be used. Normally every city has his system, in Hakodate there's a Kitaca.... but those cards like Pasmo, Icoca, and Sapica can be used in some... More

I took the tram and stopped at the city hall station and walked towards the dock. As for Mount Hakodate, I took bus from the main terminal. It's better to take the bus at late afternoon so that you can reach the peak around... More
