We began our hike at Taisho-ike pond next to Mt Yakedake an active volcano - very scenic. From there we trekked to the Kappa-bashi bridge and then beyond it to a further bridge called Myojin-bashi bridge where we crossed and returned by the other side...More

One of the highlights of the Japanese alps, visit kamikoche and do one of the walks to the ponds for a couple of hours. Stunning views, great photo opportunities. Yes there are a lot of tourists but it is worth the trip.

It's the most iconic spot in Kamikochi hands down and there's a reason for that. Many hotels, restaurants and shops open on both ends of the bridge and it affords a gorgeous view of the Oku-hotaka peak and the emerald-coloured Azusa river. We were there...More

This was one of the reference points in Kamikochi. The bridge itself was not big but watching the crowd at the bridge was somewhat enjoyable.

The bridge is located in perfect spot for viewing the panorama scenery of Hotaka mountain and Azusa river. If the weather is clear, the view of mountain range is unbeatable. Kamikochi with its Kappa bridge is the best scenery in Central Japan.

Apart from the beatiful scenery around there, there're some restaurants. Compare to the restaurant near the bus station, it's easier to find a seat.

You can drive to park at the spot provided for boarding bus to the visitor center in Kamigochi. It's the nearest point to go to Nippon bashi.
