Getting there: private vehicles are not allowed in the area, so the only option is to take a bus or a taxi from Sawando parking area. As a family of 5, it was cheaper to take a cab than bus. (Sorry I couldn't remember how...More

This was one of the reference points in Kamikochi. The bridge itself was not big but watching the crowd at the bridge was somewhat enjoyable.

The bridge is located in perfect spot for viewing the panorama scenery of Hotaka mountain and Azusa river. If the weather is clear, the view of mountain range is unbeatable. Kamikochi with its Kappa bridge is the best scenery in Central Japan.

Apart from the beatiful scenery around there, there're some restaurants. Compare to the restaurant near the bus station, it's easier to find a seat.

The bridge is nothing special in it self although you get a very pretty background with the mountains. Spend your time walking up and down the river for some great walks, fresh air and beautiful nature. Kamikochi is definitely a great one day trip from...More

You can drive to park at the spot provided for boarding bus to the visitor center in Kamigochi. It's the nearest point to go to Nippon bashi.
