Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a great idea. Our guides were local graduate students who gave us a unique (and entertaining) look at Kanazawa. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and good company.
We had hoped to do a "behind the scenes" tour of the nighttime fishing wharf when the catch comes in and is sold. Darn that Typhoon! The fisherman stayed home because of high seas, so instead we got a tour of nighttime Kanazawa, which we really enjoyed.

We were 6 people, visiting Kanazawa for the first time and fortunately we had our guide Tetsu who was excellent in showing us the most seaworthy places and answering all our questions. Look for this guide when you plan a visit to this beautiful city.

Guilherme was a great guide. He came to meet us at the main Kanazawa JR station. We visited tea shops, sweet stores, and a porcelain shop among others. All of this while visiting the samurai and the geisha districts. He went beyond his program described on the website in order to accommodate our wishes to see or try new things. He also helped us by explaining not only the history of the places we visited but gave us recommendations for other things to do, shop and places to eat. After we got off the bus to be back to the initial meeting place, we completed the sightseeing by walking from one site to another. We finalized the tour by taking the bus back to the train station. It was very convenient to have someone guide us through basic things that can be overwhelming during the first day in a new town such as paying the bus fare.

My friends and I joined the Kanazawa Port tour. We really loved it because it was super unique and felt like an authentic look at day-to-day Kanazawa life.
Our guides met us at Kanazawa Station and then we rode together to the port. Local University Students gave us a tour of the port, where we got to learn about different types of fish, do a scavenger hunt, and go into the biggest and coldest freezer I have ever seen. Afterwards, we ate Kanazawa seafood that had been caught the same day. Sitting down to chat over a meal was the best part of the experience. I would definitely recommend if you love seafood!!

We loved our home cooking lesson - it was casual and fun. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the opportunity to chat with our guides and learn a bit more about the culture and city in a very authentic way.

My wife and I went on this tour which was more like a local experience. Four local guides took us through the market to buy ingredients before we went to a local house to cook it all up and enjoy. It went for quite a few hours, so we got plenty of time to ask questions and get involved. The food was delicious.

If you love your seafood, then be sure to check out the fishery tour from Reach - you get to see and taste the absolute freshest seafood in Japan - literally straight off the boat. Get an insider's look at the daily auction, and learn why Ishikawa's seafood is truly unique!
And all the staff at reach are super friendly, approachable and will be happy to answer any questions you have (in English too!)

My wife and I enjoyed a home-dinner hosted by Tetsu. We made our own Tokoyaki, which is a typical Osakan dish. We were welcomed warmly and had a fantastic dinner, fascinating conversations and gained an unique experience.
Tetsu is an excellent host as he makes you feel directly at home. He engages you in conversation in a charming way and is very open, which makes the experience all the more special. We had dinner with one American guest and five Japanese, it was great!

My daughter and I participated in the cooking tour. We had a brief tour of the fish market and a supermarket, followed by a fantastic hotpot meal. The two students who we met were very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!
