This palace is where Sheikh Zayed spent his early years. There are many rooms to see and the palace is worth exploring. You can see how his family lived in days gone by.

The Palace is very pristine and well looked after. A useful insight into “family” Life many decades ago.
We were missing any sort of commentary or map. It’s possible COVID has meant they are not possible, but I’m sure there were lots of interesting facts we missed!

If you appreciate history and culture, plan in spending 1 to 1½ hours exploring this massive palace in its early years of hunting. It feels like going back into the innocent years when money had no meaning or purpose, when life was simple yet accommodated. My husband and I spent 1-1½ hours exploring each room, absorbing the lifestyle in a desert that became an Oasis because of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan. What you see today in the UAE, began with Sheikh Zayed , a very humble man, the one the Emirates greatly admired and finally call "The father of the UAE." Why? Because of his relationship with each tribe and the respect he earned from their tribal leaders, he united these tribes and with their support formed what is now The United Arab Emirates. He believed in the younger generation spending time with the older ones preserves the memories, he believed in Education for his people. I'm not an Emirate, I'm Polynesian, but I so admire the late Sheikh Zayed!

The Museum is a good place to go especially if you want to know more about the roots of the most loved person in the UAE Sheikh Zayed.

Well done preservation and demonstration of life of the Sheikh. Informative and beautiful grounds to wander. Special events are held and we were fortunate to return to attend an evening mock historical wedding with live camel and traditional dancing, prepartion and displays, authentic experience.

We spent about an hour touring the facility - glad we stopped. Another highlight is the Oasis which is just down the road.

I'm 99% that it is open on Sunday…but I am not at home in UAE to check…I think Friday and Monday might be the closed days
