We came upon this place by being enticed with the best music ever. Cengiz made us do welcome and his sense of humour is second to none. We made it a point of going every afternoon drinks very reasonably priced and glasses lovely and clean, will definitely go back when we visit hisaronu again

We have been have been going to hisaronu turkey for 27 years and the first bar we always go to is cengiz Bar not flashy but as has a heart and soul within it the ceiling is covered in football shirts all from visitors who are now all friends .he plays all the best music
60s 70s and 80s ,and has a proper sense of humour. Recently refurbished with swimming pool at the back this is a wonderful bar to chill and relax, and I will garentee you will keep going back.

After reading the write ups on here me and the wife thought we would give it a try. Some people might like it, each to their own, but it was not for us.
The place was nothing more than a shack, Cengiz and another lad serving at the "bar", but we thought we would give it a go, you cant judge a book etc etc. beer was bottled and cold and the wife asked for glass of white wine, Cengiz himself asked if she wanted dry or sweet wine then said it didnt matter anyway as he only had the same wine anyway, I think this was his stab at humour. There were appox 6 high breakfast bar chairs at the bar that were not comfortable at all and a couple of settee type chairs that had seen better days. The toilets were at the back of the place through some kind of makeshift corridor sided with polythene and they were filthy.
We had one drink and then left, did not go back again and would not recommend it

This is the third best bar in Hisaronu because it's the second and first best bar , we have just spent another week in there ( this is our sixth time in turkey ) with my very good friend Cengiz the man who will make you laugh from the moment you walk in till you leave , music is great if you like the old stuff and not to loud you have to shout to be heard , Cengiz will do what ever he can for you , if you want to go on a boat trip speak to him he is the man, we did and it was great , you don't just meet the man himself but you will find friends in his bar , cant wait till we come back next year see you Cengiz and take care xx

Cengiz his a really lovely guy makes you feel welcome. Had so many good nights in his bar if you want a good laugh with a great atmosphere go to cengiz bar. I promise you will have a great night and you will have a friend for life with cengiz

we have been going to hisaronu for 14 years and have visited many very good bars.
but this certainly has the best atmosphere, there is no loud music, very friendly, a totally non hassle bar.
its a bit hard too explain as it isnt like any other bar in any way apart from selling beverages.
cengiz gets involved personally with all the customers and gets all the customers involved with each other.
many of the customers have been visiting him for many many years.
there's plenty of laughs created by cengiz who is very much a one off host.
give it a try you wont be disappointed.

Cengiz bar. What can i say. Basically i feel welcome, happy and always laughing. Cengiz has to be the most geniune person ever and trusts us all like true friends. The cheapest bar ive been to in Turkey and on all 3 of my visits to Turkey i've spent most of my time there. I could go on but ill be here for ever.. If you haven't give his bar a try. It wont disappoint.

This should be number 1 on the list.
I have been to Hisaronu 10 times and Cengiz's bar is the first place I visit. Cengiz is a great character and a good friend. His bar has character too and is self service when he is not there, pay him later or pay one of the temporary bar people (likely to be a returning tourist who knows him like I do).
The bar is basic but in his company there is no need for expensive furnishings, I wouldn't have it any other way! He remembers everybody's names, makes us all laugh and loves his 60/70s music.

When you walk past this bar all you hear is load 60s/70s music and the place looks a liittle run down. But once you go in and meet Gengiz the owner you wont want to leave.Best bar and host in the area.

Myself and my wife have been going to Hisaronu for the last 11yrs and cant picture where this bar is. We are going back in September and staying at the Lagoon Hotel, can anyone let us know where this bar is as we would love to drop in for a cheeky beer or 2

Lynda C - Have you visited the same Cengiz Bar as us? In Hisaronu!! Your review seems a little different from what you might find at our good friends place! Don't get me wrong its a great review but not sure it's for the right place unless it's a little tongue in cheek!

There is another man called Cengiz who is at the Barracuda restaurant near the roundabout at the top of the village. Could be him the Barracuda is well worth a visit. But you cant beat Cengiz at his bar of the same name I have known him since the days of Daisy May "during the war"!
