Well worth a trip out to this beautiful temple which is built to honour a famous monk. When we visited it was quiet and peaceful on a weekday. The statue is impressive and the buildings are beautiful. It is surrounded by a large parkland with...More

I'm seriously not understanding why this is the top-ranked temple in Hua Hin. There's no religious feeling - just a bunch of tour buses coming in to take group pictures and buy at the numerous souvenir stalls. There's nothing else to do here. We were...More

The temple is quite far out of the city. It has a big statue. Nothing really special. Not worth making a detour to visit except for Buddhist people.

This is a beautiful place and we recommend the visit as well as the thai balm sold downstairs which is very good quality.

Came across this temple on our way elsewhere and so glad we took the time to visit it. Loads of ornamental chickens a little grotto, a couple of temples and of course the black buddah. Well worth the stop

A serene place to visit. If you believe in the religion, I think you are supposed to walk around the statue three times clockwise and pray earnestly. Do check out the reservoir behind.

First, the local called this place as Big Buddha, so don't get confused when trying to get a taxi to this place. Secondly the white songtaew which serves from Hua Hin town to Huay Mongkol only runs at 10am, 12 noon and 2pm. We decided...More

Yes, I know temples live from donations. Yes, I know buddhism and offerings go hand in hand. Yet, here, for the first time I was apalled to litterally see it happening: the recycling of donations, either in the form of gifts and even flowers (hence...More
