Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Interesting to see the style of station architecture and an old British manufactured steam engine on what is now an isolated short section of track.
Perhaps we'd've found it more engaging if we'd had a guide or a leaflet with more background, but still interesting enough.
20 minutes sufficed.

Long before there was present day Israel and present day Beer Sheva, there was train plying to Beer Sheva from present Syria. And the glimpses of this is available here. Coaches are displayed in its original form, it is magnificent. We enjoyed a cool drinks of Beers in the restaurant and amid the concrete jungles that Beer Sheva is, this is serene and tranquil in the evening. A must visit place when one is in Beer Sheva.

This museum is also called the Turkish Railway Station Museum.
There is ample free parking in front of the entrance. There is complete wheelchair access to the buildings, toilets, and restaurant. Wheelchair-bound people will not be able to enter the train carriages, but will be able to enjoy the short outdoor movie, and both musuem buildings which now feature elevators. One building was the original station house, and the other was the station master's living quarters. Signs in English and Hebrew explain the history of each building and what they were used for after the trains stopped using this station.
A temporary exhibit of the history of Israel Railways is somewhat marred by the fact that all explanations in that exhibit are in Hebrew only, but the audio and visual displays are all available in both Hebrew and English.
The museum is closed on Saturdays.
While you're at the museum, I highly recommend eating at the Hakatar Restaurant, which is in the museum complex. See my separate review.

It is a visually appealing attraction that falls flat as an inviting attraction, as it seems to be closed very often and misses the opportunity to tell a really good story

This was one our stops on a family walking tour of the Old City in Beersheba. We did not go in - the site was closed when we were there (middle of a weekday? odd...), but we just enjoyed seeing a piece of history. There is also a small memorial to Turkish soldiers who died.

This is okay to see if one have time, but really nothing special without a strong background interest in Beer Sheva history. I thin it will be okay to hear a whole story and drive to see w/o stopping.

For me, the History of Engine 70414 was new. And I have lived in Israel for 50 years!
This site, built by the city of Beersheba, is a reconstruction of the original Ottoman railroad station, together with the famous Engine 70414. Good tour guide (part of the entrance fee), together with close-to-authentic reconstruction, made the visit great. Worth buying the double ticket together with Abraham site. The height of the tour is the "modern" history of Engine 70414- and its political implications. No spoiler here- go and see it yourself!
