St Francis Xavier Church is located in Kuta. This is my second visit to Bali and I had previously promised that if I ever return, I will make a trip back to this church.
Upon arriving to the car park, you will see the grand entrance of the church after a short flight of steps.
The church hall was very peaceful and quiet and there is a calming and cooling sense when I step in (even though the fans were not turned on).
The church does not have any church service or mass every Friday and Saturday but the church hall remained open for anyone like me who are ok to walk in to do our personal prayers.
This church is near some factory outlets like Rip Curls and pretty near a few malls like Lippo Mall.
Do drop by to pray in this church if you are in Kuta. The security guards at the entrance are very diligent and helpful - to stop traffic for my driver to drive in and out of the church.

We have visited St Francis Xavier Church on a number of occasions, this being the first post Covid. Beautiful Church, steps leading to the entrance which is flanked by statues and statues also atop the portico. beautiful interior with the stained-glass windows, 14 stations of the cross wall mounted and the altar with cross and figure of Christ depicting the crucifixion. Beautiful floral displays front the altar and other locations. Welcoming smiles and greetings from other churchgoers.

It is a lovely church located in the heart of Kuta across from a big mall. For ladies no shorts allowed. I was given a sarong to wrap around. The only down side is the sound system was really bad. There was so much echo we couldn't hear anything the priest was saying or the readings.

Absolutely beautiful Church/Adoration Chapel just four short blocks from the hotel. My Sister and I walked to the daily 7 a.m. mass. We were shocked when the Priest spoke English upon receiving communion. Thank you Holy Spirit!

On the first day of my visit to Bali I visited Lippo mall and after exploring the mall I and my friend decided to visit this catholic church which is located just opposite to the mall. It is beautiful with a huge building and lots of crowds. The service is done in both English and Bahasa.

Ubud is the best place for raw vegans in Bali, but I stayed in Kuta just so I can go to daily Mass in this lovely church. Friendly priests and parishioners. They have 3 daily schedules, and the 3 pm Mass is special because the Host is exposed for a short period of adoration. Another plus: nearby adoration chapel doesn't close! I regret staying only for 5 days in Bali, and this church is one of the reasons I was sad to go!

Its great to see a Catholic church erected in a Predominantly Muslim Indonesia and Hindu Bali. Masses start at 7am, and onwards but the English language mass is held at 6pm during Sundays. The church is beautifully adorned inside and is very modern outside, spacious parking and some food carts selling local delicacies outside. It is located in busy road that is very accessible to transportation and a walking distance to shopping malls and seafood restaurants.

On the last day of 2017, my wife and I were blessed to attend the Sunday mass in FX Church in Kuta. We opted to hear the Bahasa Indonesia mass at 9:30am instead of the English mass at 6pm. The 6pm mass then was a bit late timing for us, for attending it would have left us stuck in a private tour car while weaving through the traffic on New Year’s eve. We do not understand Bahasa Indonesia by the way (LOL), but then it was still a blessing to hear the mass in a different language together with the locals. Anyway the Catholic mass is celebrated essentially the same way in all parts of the world ;) So we just brought with us English printouts of the Sunday missalette and Gospel reflections.
One interesting thing about the FX Church is its somehow “modern” and minimalist look. It is a big air-conditioned church wherein you would see a big projector screen, modern-day lights and sounds system, and pews in good condition, which are all common sights in contemporary churches. A couple of statues at the altar and the Church’s interior are painted in plain beige/white color, which make the Church look simpler.
Another interesting sight is the altar. It does not have an elaborate and exquisite design like those in other centuries-old churches; but FX Church’s altar area has a big and beautifully sculpted crucifix with beads of light seemingly emitting from it. And behind the cross is a faint wall painting of angels who appear to be wearing traditional Balinese dress :)
Lastly, the choir of FX Church, composed of teenagers and young adults, also make this church a bit more interesting. They made the prayers more lively and heartfelt through their good singing. The male and female voices blended so well when they sing. The voices of the soloist and the cantor were admirable too.
Overall, FX Church is a simple church and may not always make it in the must-see lists in Bali; but it has few interesting points that should attract the Catholic tourists at least :)
P.S. We’ll attend the English mass on our next visit ;)
